Oh, to be a vol trader.

I hope Zelensky wiped his ass with the proposal before returning it.

It’s safe to say that Trump’s second turn at playing President is turning out worse than everyone feared. And he isn’t even 3 months into his term.

Soon we’ll get to a point where we’ll have to decide which one is more evil: Russia or the US. It won 't be an easy choice I’m afraid…

The millions of US citizens marching in protest give me hope though.
Oh wait, there’s none of that.

Three? He was only inaugurated on 20th January.

The war torn sovereign nation that Trump is trying to blackmail and squeeze like a lemon had a GDP of roughly 200 billion. That was before the full scale invasion by Russia. The dude he has running his government, slashing aid and social programs, is worth twice that, at least on paper.
(Literally like a 10 second google search. If the numbers are wrong, please correct).

Protests are taking place quite regularly. Just because you don’t see it, does not mean it’s not happening.

Eh?

Sorry, but what is the scale of these? You have like 330 million people. Maybe it’s the lack of reporting but so far it doesn’t seem very impressive tbh.

Edit: Just looked up the Not my presidents protests around the country, which I guess is the big one? Thousand here, a few hundred there. I suppose it’s a start.

Quelle Surprise!.
Sacking people for fun does tend to put them off any organisation for a while.

So, a narrative (with dubious distinctions). And one that requires you ignore the top line result of being the smallest winning margin since 2000.

One thing I’m curious about, is whether an unpopular incumbent president presiding over an economy with highly negative sentiments tends to see such patterns.

I would be surprised to see an increase in votes for their party under such circumstances, especially if the candidate doesn’t want to say how they would differ from their predecessor.

It is more basic than that. They were fired summarily, no notice provision, and many did not have alternative contact details. First round of re-hire offers were sent out to their government emails they no longer had access to

There is an argument for reciprocal tariffs, sure. However

i) Virtually all trade between Mexico, Canada, and the US has been at a zero tariff

ii) VAT is not a tariff, collecting 13% HST on a Canadian purchase of a good is applied whether or not the good originates in Canada, the US, or a third country.

What clowns do they have working there? Perhaps it’s what the “Department of Government Efficiency” should be looking at.

I’m all for 0 tariffs between those countries.

VAT is a local tax within a country and each country can tax the items as they see fit.

My case for reciprocal tariffs applies mostly to India.

They just fired those guys who were supposed to send the emails.
