I think it was. The White House got statements out incredibly quickly, and the fact that Vance initiated the attacks that derailed is telling.
The first statement was out before Zelensky was off the White House grounds.

I think Trump likes Russia because it’s simple. There is one man he has to talk to, everything else is noise. He can talk to Putin and know that is where all the power resides. Democracy bores him, he likes dictators.
It looks like the timing was quite deliberate, sending a message (sorta like falling out of a window does in Russia…). US broadcast media got the statement as Zelensky was getting into the vehicle outside the White House, so they could read it as they broadcast him climbing in
Obviously premeditated. That’s hardly the worst thing about it though.
Zelensky was unprepared for the attack on the White House. This was a calculated PR move to justify the TrumpUSA’s turn to Putin to the US population. DT can improve the image of Russia and WP in the USA
cannot turn it into a positive, so all he can do is turn the image of Ukraine and Zelenskyj into a negative one in order to strengthen WP’s standing.
Because the entire goal with the show was to humilate and denigrate Zelinsky and brand him as ungrateful and most importantly, an enemy of the US and peace.
All of this was as choreagraphed as it can be in the White House. A deadly trap, one that will cost many, many lives.
I don’t think Zelensky was unprepared. It looks like he read the room, and figured out what he was really there for. He just didn’t play the straight man role he was supposed to.
