On the one hand, the Nordstream2 can’t open that easily anyway because it has never been certified. This would require the approval of the German Ministry of Economic Affairs.

I wouldn’t have used such a term previously despite the US having had plutocratic tendencies for ages, but it is what it is.

The goal is now, seemingly, to grind down Ukraine’s Armed Forces and let the Russians capture more territory. Obviously, Ukrainians will face this with new-found hatred of the United States.

Well, certainly, this will not lead to peace, but intensified Russian military operations. Ukraine has months of ammunition left, so this only drives home to the Russian leadership, that victory could soonish be in reach if they just grind on (barring a European miracle). I do suspect the Americans knows that, so the most logical conclusion is that this serves the interest of their leadership (in their minds at least).
Vance absolutely hates Ukraine and Trump absolutely hates Ukraine and admires Russia. This was likely always something they would have liked to do, but now it seems they have managed to manufacture the excuse to do so when Zelensky visited the White House. Only very blind people could not see this building up. Hopefully, Western capitals draw the correct conclusions.

I think it was manufactured and I very much agree with your future chancellor that it was a set up (manufactured outrage in the White House). They want to cut off Ukraine, so a massive character assassination of Zelensky and gargantuan propaganda campaign against him and Ukraine; well it was the perfect opportunity to do so. They certainly don’t care about peace, that is just words they use to get their congressmen along with this moral crime.
I think their main goal is strategic rapprochment with Russia and Ukraine and Europe is very much in the way. Vance and Musk argues NATO withdrawal. They need to manufacture and invent reasons for it.
It is actually, for once, a true conspiracy…
