He was a genuinely great man, and the way he put France on an independent footing in military terms can’t be valued highly enough. The US didn’t like it at all at the time, but he stood his ground and went ahead. Yeah, proven right, and it could now provide the foundation for an independent European defence.
It’s a pity that the presidents following in his footsteps have all been miserable, corrupt dwarves in comparison to him (bar maybe Miterrand, who had his flaws, but still was a genuine statesman too imo).

I beg to disagree he made some catastrophic political déecsions imo. He was after all a military man and his decissions in that regard where generally much better.

I’m still having problems sitting for prolonged périodes so I am still using my phone which is set to French. I’m useless with the phone and as well as french ‘autocorrect’ my finger seems to be 3 to 4 times fatter than it should be. 
I am doing a lot of exercises so hope to be back infront of my computer, and playing vinyls, in the near future. 
It’s impossible to tell what is satire and what is truth anymore. Nothing is real.
I have mine set up in dual mode, so it can be set to English or German. It seems to work out which I use on which app for the most part.
