Trump promised to end the war in 24 hours, but didn’t say what day

What is he on about.

Putin will not budge for fuck’s sake.
He has already handed them several political, economic and military victories. RU has no intention to submit to Trump, lol. What the serious F.

He has taken away HIMARS and intel from Ukraine. Also Storm Shadow. Ukrainian morale suffers due to sense of betrayal. He has literally aided multiple Russian offensives. Did he think they were not going to not take the fucking High Five he handed them ? They are joyously gleeful and do not respect the orange bufoon at all. They think him a friendly Caligula. He enables their conquest.

He lost me at the ‘checks and balances, by design’ foolishness. The judiciary is utterly compromised, the legislative branch submissive, the US is no longer governed by the rule of law.

I think it is far more challenging than a lot of people imagine to get to a clear story at why they are doing all this because of how many disparate groups with different motivations and ideas there are in the movement.

  • There are people who are aligned with the nastiness of Trump and are in it for the pain and suffering they can cause others
  • There are people who mistakenly think Trump shares their motivations, and there are several groups in here who are all misaligned with each other
  • There are those who understand Trump’s venality means there are opportunities for him to give you room to do what you want to do

This whole thing is such a badly organized shit show that the potential for these groups to get in each other’s way is enormous.

Gavin Newsome is reading the room. And the “backlash” is coming from the far left of the party, mostly from the hyper online activist mob. The average Democrat agrees with Newsome.

This is more astonishing than most people will realize. This violates the right of US citizens to select their own legal representation.

Also, Democrats are learning. The average Democratic politician has been cowed by the far left hyper online activist mob into not going outside their media bubble lest they “platform” those with whom they disagree. So Gavin talking to Charlie Kirk is a great signal opposing this mindset.

Democrats have to start following the likes of Pete Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders by telling the far left hyper online activist mob to pound sand on this (and many other issues) and start talking directly to voters. Nobody is watching CNN and MSNBC anymore.

And FFS Democrats, if you think Trump is “literally Hitler,” wearing pink, holding up auction signs, and releasing flash mob Tik Tok clips probably ain’t gonna get it done.

Sad

Pointing to Bernie as a positive example of a Dem who cut off the toxicty of the far left from his campaign is a WILD idea.

With this interview Newsome simultaneously showed why he is so popular among Dems but also why so many have concerns about him being a snake. Going into spaces the RW currently dominates is critical. Newsome is good at and so this is a positive from that angle. Going into those spaces and ceding so much ground is not. Charlie Kirk is fine to talk to, but it should be to expose the limits of their thinking, not to break bread with them and find common ground.

What an astonishing mess

The Northeastern ISOs don’t have a way of collecting the tariffs, or even operating their spot markets with some of the supply subject to a tariff. They are already talking about insolvency. This structure is now so easily gamed that something akin to the California power crisis of 25 years ago seems very likely. All of the old Enron guys must be salivating.

edit: the most exposed company I could think of regarding this was Constellation Energy…stunned. Share price has fallen from $347 in January to $207 now.
