It might though. Eldbridge Colby is pushing for Trump to cancel the Submarine sale to Australia, because Colby is of the opinion that it would be absurd to proliferate SNN tech to AUS. Which would be bigger than seen at face value, since that entire deal was actually a deal with France, but then US and AUS went behind France’s back and US agreed to sell SNNs.
The thinking of the US, at the time, was that AUS SNN could help with China and US famously fucked over France.
Given how complicated the history is, it would be pretty shit for Australia to have the deal canceled, particularly after they themselves fucked over the original supplier and dealer, France (who is serious about nuclear proliferation unlike some).
But Eldbridge has never seen a US relationship that he can’t put to the stress test.

Real Talk: The US attack was counter productive and stupid. The US knows this too, but Trump needed the apperance of bullying someone weaker for the grift of it. Of course it hurts a bit, but hurts less than much else. As most people knows, I am far from a fan of either Serbia or authoritarianism, but what Serb riot police did there is fine and not terrible, imo. You can be critical of the order given to disperse, but this is much preferable to rubber bullets and batons and on the scale of a water cannon (also a very good tool against illegal demonstrations).
As for the millions demonstrating, they can take it ! No toppling an authoritarian regime without some minor sacrifice and this was indeed, very minor.

A lot of Australians want it dead,for good reasons.
They are far too big for a lot of our coastal waters,so why?
Maybe to be the fall guys when the US want to have a go at China…we get to be the target.
Mainly shipping a lot of money to the US for subs we will probably never see.
