World Cup next year will be loads of fun btw. Host countries might be at war with each other, tourists/visitors getting detained for bullshit. Will make Qatar look like a cherished memory in comparison.
I am involved with Ontario soccer organization, though nothing actually to do with organizing around any of these matches. Close enough to get some free tickets (probably not as many as when the Women’s World Cup was here), and I know some people who are directly involved. They expect an absolute shitshow. Between European fans who are used to travelling to every game in a group and American CBP who don’t get it and don’t care, the border will be a mess. The US border crossings are not set up to handle that volume of traffic of people who need visas to enter the US (even the arrival visas most Europeans can get). There has been basically no preparation at the land crossings, but we know the flight system cannot really handle that kind of movement either.
One of my conditions that I kept when they wanted me in a er … Senior role was that I wouldn’t be training people on the fly anymore.
Now that’s out of the picture. And the lack of hiring will have an immediate effect on firings. Im putting in my papers if they don’t allow me to transition back to the mentor/trainer role.
I’ve only been fired once in my job. Don’t want that to come again. Would rather leave before that.
In a Navigator Research survey for the House Democratic Caucus, 55% of voters in 62 battleground districts said Democrats are “more focused on helping other people than people like me.” Only 27% said Democrats were focused on helping people like them.
Just 39% percent of voters in swing districts believe Democrats have the right priorities and 42% think Democrats share their values. Only 39% think Democrats value work. …
Resistance sings to the souls of left-wing Democrats. But it’s a dead end. Wiser Democrats know their party must pivot in word, deed and tone to a more centrist, constructive approach. Their values must align more with those of ordinary Americans, tired of being lectured and bullied by insufferable progressives. Change is never easy—but in this case, it’s essential. Let’s see which party can position itself for 2026 more convincingly.
While I some what agree with the sentiment, I don’t understand why people keep saying this, when it is factually incorrect. I have already written about this to you, I think. Showed you the law (think it was you, apologies if not).
They are not guilty of legal treason. Treason is specific. Please stop demanding that a law that does not exist should charge them with treason. They cannot face the death penalty, as I have already explained, since they are not technically traitors according to law.
Betraying someone or something morally, is not the same, for fuck’s sake, as betraying your country according to law. You can betray your country a million times and not be charged with treason, because treason specifically, as stated previously, deals with aiding an enemy state and we all know the US is not at war with Russia.
I mean, I hope a lot of people die today. It is cruel to say perhaps, but I do. Certain people, I want them dead yesterday, but I can’t demand that they face any sort of death penalty since they are not chargable of any capital offense in the West, or they are loyal to their respective states, such as a truck load of important Russians for instance, I would have liked to see dead yesterday.
But I can’t demand that Norway arrest Glen Diesen because he is a Russian propagandist and influencer. I also can’t demand that the pro-Israeli lobby groups are arrested for treason or anything like that, since we are not at war with Israel despite their overt war crimes. And so on…
Maybe, but my point is this is merely an article the WSJ has published every week for the past 30 years. It doesnt matter what is happening in the world that week, Economic Conservatives think today is the day Democrats should be told what they’d like to see from them to be happy (but will still never give them their vote).
