I was going to Kansas City via Chicago to visit some of my ex’s family. The customs officer at O’Hare detained me for three hours, he couldn’t understand how someone with a tanned complexion could be British. His supervisor finally noticed his fuckup and let me go. I missed my connecting flight and had to take the next one. For no reason other than idiocy on their part.
I blame all these television series, such as Sherlock, Peaky Blinders, Downton Abbey and the like, which are popular worldwide yet portray an almost exclusively white England.
