I am 50-50 on whether Musk personally knows better, but the point is the target of this sort of dumb shit comments absolutely dont. To them, this is how the world should work.

I know the reflex is to say “she was here illegally so this is correct”, but to enact good policy you really need to be able to think 2 or 3 steps further. Imagine the woman being assaulted was American but this woman was her only witness. In this environment would she talk to the police? What happens to a community when that happens? This is precisely why sanctuary cities exist, so people can engage with the local police, to help them do their jobs, without fear of punishment.

Elon Musk’s claim of 20M dead people on Social Security is false. Evidence shows ~24K deceased got $298M in improper payments (2021 report), not 20M. Musk likely misread the Numident database, which tracks all SSNs, not just beneficiaries. Only 89K aged 99+ got benefits in Dec 2024, with some errors due to old COBOL coding.
