Drill Baby Drill...the US Politics Thread (Part 2)

I declare this to be the new official TAN descriptor for that clown that my 12yr old named President Caca during his first term. Henceforth he should be referred to only by his new full title ;

President Caca , one of history’s greatest morons.

At least he wore a suit.

Unrealistic. Mordor would be exempt.

He’s got a great relationship with Sauron. It started off differently. You know, he used to refer to him as the guy with the eye thing. But then Sauron wrote him a letter and they get along great now.

Sauron agreed to let him build his own tower in Mordor.

I didnt vote for the “I’m totally going to fuck things up with the dumbest possible approach to trade you’ve ever seen” guy for him to do this. I assumed he was joking.

I do feel like we’re coming to a breaking point. For years serious people have bent over backwards to try to retrospectively find a trail of logic and meaning in the absurd nonsense that comes out of Trump’s mouth. The number of people seems to be rising by the day who are coming around to the realization that “what if it’s all just because he’s a fucking moron” is a much simpler explanation with greater predictive power.

What could better reflect the stupidity and corruption of the times in which we’re living?

How about Newsmax, headed by Rudy Gulliani, ringing the NYSE’s opening bell on the morning the arse fell out of the market because of the horse they backed doing yet another thing that is fucking idiotic?

How childish is that “top banker”?

Free speech is back, baby. Now show us yer tits!

What? It’s just a joke. Lighten up. Under Trump comedy will be legal again

At $56/share, they are down somewhat from $233. Insiders who had stock at the $14 opening did well, but MAGA will be left holding the bag (again)

Suspicious package? Was it Steve Bannon?

Turns out it was way faster than I guessed, 5 plants in Michigan and Indiana already. Demand must have been softening from a month ago.

The same UAW president who endorsed Trump is upset about the layoffs.

I tend to lean the other way. I believe it’s all manipulation, it’s an act. Like a con man playing the cup and ball game. Talking nonsense to distract from ultimate goals. His persona an extreme version of Boris Johnson purposefully messing up his hair and manufacturing scandals. A conman playing the fool.

My biggest issue is I don’t know what the con is. What’s his ultimate goal ? Greed and wealth transfer ? Facism ? Territorial expansion?

Things like tariffs, turning back on allies, deleting records, are they noise ? or part of the actual goal?

As this thread shows we are being hit so hard and fast, with so many controversial announcements/executive orders that this is a coordinated plan that is being executed.

I usually subscribe to the thinking of Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. However I firmly believe the intent here is malice. Premeditated and carefully planned. I just don’t know what for.

Have you ever considered malicious stupidity?

I have :joy:

But I contrast this with first term. His intelligence is constant, but his malice is dialled up to 11.

I don’t doubt there is malice planned, thanks to the Heritage Foundation crew. The only question is how competent the malice is…

I feel what we are seeing here is a tug-of-war between different idiots.

They do build a lot of cars though… One does not simply walk around Mordor…
