From personal experience, we had to put my great-aunt into a nursing home years ago. She claimed over and over again someone was coming into her apartment and stealing from her.
She called the police in the middle of the night, rang the neighbors doorbells, and cursed people downstairs in front of their house. She was incredibly aggressive and totally convinced everyone was cheating on her etc.

I think it will be culturally healthy for most countries to decouple from the United States. There is clearly something fundamentally broken in American culture that is unhealthy to be exposed to.
