This is such bad framing. The difference between Trump 2 vs 1 is not mental decline. He has always been a moron and demonstrated it daily in his first term in a way that should have embarrassed anyone who had anything to do with his rise. The difference in this term is power and how corruptible unchecked power is to someone. The response to Jan 6th and the failure to hold him accountable for the Documents case showed him he does not need to worry about constraints. In his first term he was aware that there were lines he was supposed to operate within even if he was constantly “testing the fences”, to mix metaphors. This time around he knows the fences are only cosmetic. And that sort power is not good for anyone’s mental state, let alone the mental state of a fucking moron.
