Drill Baby Drill...the US Politics Thread (Part 3)

This is a potentially a powerful statement but by extension we are all then also on the same footing then? Basically unless I travel across the Atlantic (or go south to Gaza) and fight for said causes I’m on the same level as Putin and Trump? The point I guess I’m aiming for is that there are differences between the leaders mentioned and framing them as equals is disingenuous. Ultimately those in power do have responsibility to act responsibly and should be accountable - which they wont be.

The US has an estimated 100 nuclear bombs in Europe which are declared to be in Germany, France, Italy, UK, Belgium and Netherlands I believe but a lot of the information is listed as classified. It’s got 40 military bases across Europe, including the Baltic states and virtually every eastern european country with upto 100,000 troops stationed there, which I find a little unnerving right now.

It’s pretty easy to corroborate as the aircraft are in their specific bases and the flightpaths are easy to spot. (I have German bombers flying over my house on a regular basis).

But you reckon… so I suppose that trumps verifiable data.

When Putin pretends to be acting in self-defence against the possibility of an attack by NATO against Russia , people rightly laugh at the notion but are not surprised because , well , it’s Putin after all.

When other people repeat this nonsense , well , that’s on them.

You do realise both can be true at the same time?

How did France get into that list?

There is this community called 'Anonymous Central". They hack into any kind of computer systems and give information.

I really don’t know what to make of this information, if it is an exaggeration or some elements of truth in it.

The main superpowers seem to be carving off areas for the benefits of Business, Mineral resources etc

What do you guys and gals think?

Brilliant post, with a qualified lawyer’s perspective, thank you.

In normal times that would be check mate, case closed.

In current times, even if the law was applied correctly and the shooter was jailed for a very long time, Trump would pardon him. It is galling, but ICE is filled with untrained, trigger-happy sorts, a number of whom are convicted felons who are delighted to be getting paid so well to ‘rough them up’ per instruction from Trump. He has got their back.

Sorry, my faux pas. Should have been Turkey. I’d just taken a call from an old mate in mine who lives in the Loire, so maybe that was it.

I would love to see the percentage of ICE agents with domestic abuse convictions. Give them 45 days training, some camo gear and a gun and it’s ‘Look at me ma…On top of the world!’

…it makes you wonder how many ICE agents are suffering PTSD… I’m sure if they have served their country, it would go a long way on their CV - Sorry as that condition is, doesn’t make them best positioned to acting under duress in full body armour, armed to the teeth eh.
They seem to be brainwashed in a ‘them and us’ mindset…

Whenever I see those goons I am reminded of the mob that stormed the Capitol. They are one and the same as far as I can see.

Trump was on video asking the head of Halliburton about how excited they are to go back into Venezuela. When he asked him why he left in the first place he was told it was because of Trump’s sanctions in 2016 :joy:

It certainly looks that way,Trumps outrageous slurs about the dead woman,by definition eulogising the guy responsible,is another pointer to the kind of person the US has entrusted as President!

Fresh from his “heroics” in Venezuela now the “Emperor”,is threatening Iran and Cuba, along with on going tripe over Greenland, and his desire to crash NATO,he is working toward being friendless in the world apart from his maaate in the Kremlin and his buddy in Tel Aviv.
Plenty of fair weather friends, but they are only a little more reliable than Trump.
The world may be starting to realise that and some are seeking other allies it seems.

'President Donald Trump said Sunday that he is “inclined” to keep ExxonMobil out of Venezuela after its top executive was skeptical about oil investment efforts in the country after the toppling of former President Nicolás Maduro.

“I didn’t like Exxon’s response,” Trump said to reporters on Air Force One as he departed West Palm Beach, Florida. “They’re playing too cute.”
