Drill Baby Drill...the US Politics Thread (Part 3)

While I realise that you for some reason hate off-topic more than anyone (which I have never really understood), your intepretation of what is war and what is US politics is odd in my eyes. In my mind, a lot of what you seemingly think is war-stuff, does not belong in a war thread and at other times, it is so narrow and borderline that it could suit both threads, possibly Global Politics..

I mean, I really don*t think Trump’s sound bytes belong together in a thread where information and video material of a military-technical and more specific geopolitical nature is posted. I understand you think differently. I get that. But imagine there is a ground incursion later on and battle maps and extensive details is being posted. You really think US politicians, often speaking total nonsense about the war, belong in the same thread? I don’t.

This is a war post:

But this is a US politics post in my eyes.

So is this imo.

It’s just that we don’t really agree on intepretation. No one is trying to be mean or ignore you. It’s just a bit baffling for me and it doesn’t feel right to post Trump takes, or US congressional discussion on the war, in a war-thread where information on bombing runs and invasion of Lebanon is being posted.

It’s difficult to navigate your personal limitations.

And with that I want to wish you a very good night or morning (choose what is applicable). Take care. Wish you all the best…

Looks like it could get interesting in Texas of all places.

Could be some interesting results if the village idiot starts using foreign airstrips without consent.
Might lead to strong hardening of resolve and find out just what people actually think of him.
He clearly believes he is god.

That is the US bankrupted then,if shipowners act as usual they will insure way out there, another bit of shitdribbling that will crash and burn smartish.

I understand the distinctions.

My point is that the bogeyman, the shariah law that they’re so afraid of? It’s the same values they want to impose anyway.

I’d add that what you see in Saudi Arabia is a rank distortion of “shariah law”. Again, done with a purpose to create an “other” that serves their narratives.

The husband also did an interview: https://www.expressnews.com/news/article/tony-gonzales-santos-aviles-affair-husband-21360950.php

Of course, all those contradict what the BBC is now reporting:

Source: Texas lawmaker Tony Gonzales urged to resign over alleged affair with staffer - BBC News

Which is rather suspicious, one way or another. The claims in that post however, I think, are too definitive considering the evidence available. Each party has their own interest in claiming the different things now.

Jesus Christ, the Vice-President of the United States is using Douglas McGregor as a source. WE ARE FUCKED!!!

Vance is a cynical bastard, but he is SUPPOSED to be intelligent, one of the smart ones. I am actually shocked. This stuns me, but explains maybe a lot. Jesus Kristus, this is so, so bad. David Icke is just as good a geopolitical defence analyst as McGregor is. Personally, I myself, I am infinately superior and I should not be. I really should not be. I really should be greatly inferior to the expert the VP of the United States use. Shocking

I am shell shocked. This some what blew my mind, because Vance is the smart but edgy and cynical one. I cannot fathom…

This scares me!

Thank God…I noticed the example was an old post, but still. I was not aware that VP Vance is a fan of McGregor’s “analysis”.

I rest my case about the supposed intelligence of these people.

what your saying is we should all have the right to bare mod duties?

I am now pretty sure that if they just randomly picked students, totally at random, from a political science or history class in college; it would vastly improve the intelligence in the admin. You don’t need professors, doctors or anything like that. Just people who are interested in their subjects and have a bit above average IQ.

The typically agreed on beginning of the revolutionary war was Lexington and Concord, which occurred in 1775.

1776 was neither the start of the revolution nor the year the US became independent. Its just a date that people who know nothing but a very small amount of mindless trivia can hang their hat on. This is who is running the government. And these are some of the smart ones

All these people need, is intellectual honesty (i.e. willingness to admit errors) and willingness to listen to people who know more about a given subject matter. That is all that is needed in a democracy with checks and balances.

But of course, this is done and dusted and over, as we knew in 2016 they had none of that.

Just the McGregor thing that got to me, because I frankly cannot undestand that Vance watches his infantile youtube stuff and actually believes it (it’s senseless!) Because I have listened to the neocons and conservatives who have condemned Vance in particular as The Worst (i.e. because he was supposedly intelligent and so knew better, which is why what he is doing is so morally damning and yadiyada). I thought he was a smart bastard, just without integrity, honour and with the worst ethics.

But you are right.
