Many would say that you Mascot are far left ( well one most definitely would have but hes not been seen for ages , probably protesting Disney)…but for @toro sake, could he explain why @Mascot is actually engaging him and has not banned him ( although i think that is what he wants, so he can feel vindicated as say look what happened to me etc)

Regarding MAGA, if after 4 years the acronym hasn’t come to fruition, we are in a strange disconnect. Has it’s Kwisataz Haderach failed or is his son then going to set us on the golden path to evermore?
I wonder if there is a prediction as to when this “craze” will whiter away? I’m sure a lot of clever people have made the calculation and there is probably something in the higher financial transactions taking place that probably gives a clue. On that note it was interesting that when we were looking to invest a small sum a year a so ago, the advisor suggested a runway into the investing to spread the risk as Trump landed…
Be sure to let me know the date so I can poke the hoover round first…

If you knew nothing and were told it was the woke that killed trust in news and were asked to estimate from that trajectory when that happened you’d put it at some time shortly after 2000…the time when the press helped a Neocon Republican government to start an illegal war. There is a lot of noise in the changes since then, but trajectory is more or less a steady drop…every perceived failure of the news since then just building on a pre-existing view.
Looking at that graph and deciding it is proof that woke killed the news is idiocy. As for the left canceling anyone who disagrees with them, in the past few years Trump, the leader of a major political party, has filed lawsuits against three of the main MSM news orgs, all of which were widely viewed as both frivolous and incredibly dangerous. In two cases the international conglomerate that owned the news division being sued caved in actions that were viewed as a disgrace to independent journalism. In one case it was done with pretty explicit quid pro quo with someone who had by then become president.
The US position as global leader in science has been recklessly and without process destroyed in an attempt to clamp down on non-approved speech. People with legal status have been rounded up and detained, some even sent out of the country, because of speech the government doesnt like. Conservative book banning orgs are running rampant. There has been an overhaul of the public university system in florida to install political ideologues to stamp out academic thought that is not aligned with the government approved ideas. And what are we focusing our concern on? It’s tragic.

I can argue very well and source it, for the opposite (and certainly, what you say about gullible people is pure bullshit, as the people I have heard that actually cares about this is primarily intellectuals and writers; at least in my country). But preferably not on this thread. I only wrote what I wrote to placate Toro’s ego and make him realise that microscopic part of his mantra, is also a worry shared by many on the left regarding “liberal” censorship and attempts to alter intellectual works to fit better in with the times :

I think it confirms that unlike her peers, she landed on her MAGA positions by being sincere but just incredibly stupid. Then unlike her more cynical colleagues who just play a good ole boy for the hucks, she doesnt have the off ramp to pivot to pretending to believe something else like they do when something comes up that casts her people in a bad light.
EDIT: None of this should be taken as praise of her, because think what this framing says about her Jewish space lasers thing.
