And yet we’ve ended exactly where we all knew we would - the party of morality and decency eventually landing on a way to excuse the inexcusable, largely by lying about what they have done and how it compares to what others have done.
This is a different flavour, but is essentially the same thing. A huge part of their argument is they are taking back the country from the out of touch elitist snobs who look down their nose at everyone who isnt in the club. Yet this is who they actually are - it their is a MUCH smaller club than the one they pretend the Dems have and the disdain they have for everyone who isnt in it is off the charts. This is state department employee getting into a public fracas, throwing a drink on a member of the public, and then exiting the scene with big “you wish you were me, babe” energy. In any normal administration she would have received her termination before she was even out of the stadium, but neither she nor most the people she works will think she has done anything wrong here.
Brought to you by the same deplorable scum that were rabid about Hunter Biden and Hilary Clinton. The only solution in the US is a revolutionary excision of the far right cancer before it kills the patient. It may already be too late but the country should still undergo the chemo and radical surgery.
Yep. I think if he was a normal punter he’d be dead by now. There’s a lot wrong with him, just limiting that observation to the physical. He is being juiced up and wheeled back out regularly. He is receiving the best health care possible to keep him going, but it very much looks to my (unqualified) eye, that the clock is running down on him.
His deterioration in speech is notable. He slurs his words so much now. He has also thrown off any sort of filter - he never had much of one anyway, but it is markedly worse now. He is clearly bi-curious, or more, and he keeps making suggestive remarks about the men around him who are attractive to him.
Both of those things are huge signs that his frontal lobe dementia has really taken hold.
He can barely walk now, and needs to have leg braces to keep him steady, and upright. He has lost control of his bowel. That’s been a feature for a while, but it is worse than ever. Natalie Harp is clearly some sort of nurse or aid, (possibly a Russian asset) who is positioning herself as a buffer between Trump and what he sees and experiences of the world, and vice versa. She is a fan girl/infatuated with him, cleaning him up and carrying a big bag of diapers/nappies and other supplies he needs to keep going.
He has congestive heart failure too, and his cankles are a joke. The backs of his hands are permanently bruised, as they try to get a line in him to keep him juiced up and going.
By any normal measure he would have been dead by now. They are absolutely keeping him going, and apart from the fact that he’s a monster who is wholly unqualified for the office he possesses, it is fascinating, in a macabre sort of way, to see how long they can keep this up with him.
This is astonishing. It’s absurd these people should carry this much importance, but this is a legit power broker in Texas politics and during a contentious GOP primary he vocally and expensively backed Paxton’s insurgent bid against Cornyn.
I went and voted today. Early voting was open near me, lovely sunny day, bit of a line but not too bad.
There were ten different screens I had to work through, for various things on which to vote
There were a couple of Indiana constitutional things, a school funding thing, and various butchers, bakers and candlestick makers to have my say about too. There is an odd aspect of US politics to my mind, that they invite the public to vote on numerous things that should be appointed.
Anyway, for the main consequential things - a US congressional seat and an Indiana Secretary of State - I chose the Democrat option. I also went with Democrats for the various local State political offices up for grabs.
Back in the day the Republicans were a legitimate party, and whether you liked them or not, it was down to the usual sort of political preference one might have, this way or that. Normal times, at least in comparison to now.
These days they are anathema, and need to be kicked to touch at all levels.
PS - I got my sticker to tell the world I had voted. I wore it to go to the store on the way home and I got in touch with my inner 6-year old self, pleased as punch with his sticker!
DoJ preparing to take steps that would prevent the Dem being sworn in if she wins the race in Alaska, and Trump then freely admits he ordered it.
I know the right are notoriously bad at understanding literature and film, but this reads like he watched a Few Good Men and got the “you’re damn right I ordered it” part and smiled thinking to himself “Check mate, Jack has got you now.”
