Drill Baby Drill...the US Politics Thread (Part 4)

The HUGE red flag was Rahm Emanual, the then mayor of Chicago, vetoing their involvement as a host city. He said he and his team concluded that the modern FIFA agreements host cities have to comply with made it impossible for the City to come out whole and not leave the tax payers holding the bag for it. Rahm is an enormous piece of shit, but he’s come out of that looking pretty good.

Chicago is not just a major American city, it is genuinely one of America’s jewels. Especially in the summer. It is one of the few cities international travelers would go to and think the city was cool. I fear for the poor people who follow their team to some shithole like Dallas and end up being a hour car ride from anywhere. More importantly, it would be maybe the only host city where the games would have been held in the same neighborhood as the visiting fans would want to stay in (and would absolutely love their time there). It is unthinkable for the US to host this and Chicago to not be involved. The fact they chose to sit it out should have set alarm bells ringing

The televised feed didn’t really do it justice. There were some phone recordings and it was brutal.

Under the Trump crypto playbook, the family always wins. Investors don’t

Risking little of their own money, the US president and his sons have added at least $2.3 billion to the family fortune from their main crypto ventures, while the investors they’ve wooed have taken a $2.3 billion hit, a Reuters examination found.

But not Scots, who are more of a pale blue, but think Trump is a fanny.

Trump is not remotely well. It is not good medical practice to see a specialist “just in case” without there being some issue that needs to be addressed. Sometimes with good resources that gets thrown out in the case of seeing one or two over an abundance of caution, but not 22.

I have seen the Wire. What are they doing to fudge the stats? Have the redrawn boundaries and put all of the murders within the limits of unicorporated Murderstam?

As someone said you don’t have an annual cognitive test every 3 months.

They’re hiding the bodies in the vacant row houses
