I just think it is endlessly hilarious that Trump demanded they kill the algae with hydrogen peroxide (a mild paint stripper for acrylics), then when the acrylic paint started to strip and peel, he ordered an investigation to find the vandals responsible.

âWhy are the Dems politicizing thisâ those on the right wing are complaining, ignoring that Trump did this, cutting corners in the process to usher money to friends with inflated no bid contracts, after accusing Biden and Obama of not being smart enough to fix this.
The week by week break down is this is also particularly goodâŚ
to be fair, the little creatrures were not aspirational and aspiration does build a capitalist society.
not to mention the vacuum they leave in the power structure which might seem good at the time until you contemplate mans nature, perhaps negotiation would have been better?
dont get me started on the Elves either who having wanted to take a central role in policy forming for thousands of years are now, at the most pivotal time in history, leaving a void in a world which has been devastated by war and famine.
Trump is a comic-book villain who is surrounded by comic-book villains. Sadly it is real life.
âŚbut, but, but the MAGA would be licking the back side.
The framing of every piece of positive economic news during the Biden presidency

âSchool shootings provide bonanza for assault rifle manufacturersâŚâ
An article by a guy called Robert Harrington - (Palmer Report)
Shortly after the Reflecting Pool in Washington DC started to Make America Green Again, former womenâs tennis champion Martina Navratilova retweeted an article with commentary that said, âHEY MAGA! Iâve been saying this from jump. The Reflecting Pool was going to end up looking like a green swamp, not blue. I just didnât expect it to happen this fast.â
A MAGA idiot in the comments mansplained it to the retweeting tennis star: â⌠itâs old algae stuck in the pumps from sitting there for months not being used. Jackass.â
Needless to say, that comment did not age well.
Even so, when I saw the comment I decided to look into it. I donât automatically dismiss explanations if I donât know whether or not they are true, however repellent the source may be.
I am not a specialist in pool algae. But I know where to find them. Theyâre called scientists. So I set out to discover what scientists had to say on the topic. And they had plenty to say.
A useful way to think about algae is that they are the freshwater equivalent of weeds. If you provide light, nutrients and warm conditions, they will exploit the opportunity you give them and grow faster than almost any other organism â exponentially fast, nearly.
Thatâs why algae growth is such a tough problem for swimming pools. Thatâs why swimming pools are almost always painted light blue. Just like the Washington DC Reflecting Pool used to be.
The species identified in the current Reflecting Pool algae bloom appears to be primarily âScenedesmus,â a genus of green algae in the class Chlorophyceae. Itâs a common freshwater green alga that thrives in nutrient-rich water. Microscopic examinations by algal enthusiasts and researchers found Scenedesmus dominating the Reflecting Pool bloom.
Because the reflecting pool is shallow (18 to 30 inches, or 46 to 76 centimetres), the water heats up faster and promotes even more algae growth. The darker the bottom of the pool the faster it heats up and the faster the algae grow.
When Trump had the bottom of the pool painted a darker âAmerican flag blue,â against the advice of people who knew better, he created a virtual dining room paradise for algae. He created a Petri dish for algae.
The Reflecting Pool is now going to get warmer than ever, and it will continue to get warmer as the summer gets hotter. Algae that were once tough to get rid of will become virtually impervious to all efforts. All thanks to Trump.
But the bombastic buffoon Trump doesnât understand science. Trump is too stupid to understand science. All he knows is that his brittle ego canât take the blame for the Reflecting Pool fiasco.
So instead of listening to scientists, Trump called in the DC National Guard to âprotectâ the Reflecting Pool from being âsabotagedâ by what he calls âradical left lunatics.â
Thatâs the same National Guard, by the way, that Trump failed to call in on January 6, 2021. They would have filled a real need back then. They could have protected the Capitol Building from being assaulted by the very insurrectionists Trump provoked.
But Trump never called them, even though that was his job. Later Trump blamed Nancy Pelosi for the failure of the Guard to appear, despite the fact that we actually have video of Pelosi trying to summon them.
As soon as Trump realises the Guard canât keep the Reflecting Pool from growing greener, thanks to all those rapidly multiplying algae, heâll have to think of someone else to blame. Maybe Obama?
It is a source of unending amusement to me that the company that was corruptly awarded the $14 million no-bid contract to âfixâ the Reflecting Pool is called Greenwater Services.
It is one of those delicious accidents of irony when that company delivered exactly what its name suggests.
But in all seriousness, sisters and brothers, these days I canât stop thinking of the struggling Americans trying to survive economic disasters that Trump created. I donât see millions of people, I see individuals.
I see an unmarried mother crying herself to sleep because sheâs lost her SNAP benefits and can no longer afford to feed her children.
I see a man with maxed-out credit cards who canât find enough cash to meet the rising price of gas to get to work to provide for his family.
I see the heartache of a farmer losing his farm that has been in his family for generations.
Then I see the bloated bastard Trump squandering $14 million so the 250th anniversary of the nation heâs ruined can be all about him. I see the Reflecting Pool reflecting a diseased, corrupt, hateful, stupid mind.
I donât have the strength to think about these things for very long. I try not to, because itâs too depressing. Because I know I canât do a goddamned thing about it but write about it, for what itâs worth. It ainât worth much. But itâs all Iâve got.
But back to Martina Navratilova. I like her, because sheâs a fierce fighter for a democracy she wasnât born to, but is now a citizen of. I also like her because she retweeted one of my articles a few years back and said something nice about it.
So on the day that the Reflecting Pool turns a uniform green across its entire 338,000 square foot surface, Iâm going to think of Martina. Iâm going to imagine her marvellous, larger-than-life spirit playing one of her aggressive all-court tennis games on the Reflecting Pool. A Reflecting Pool transformed by Trump.
Into a giant green tennis court.
Well done Italy for taking Trump to taskâŚ
Italy is not holding back in its response to Donald Trumpâs lies about Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
One of Italyâs leading newspapers, Libero, devoted its entire front page to Trumpâs false claim that Meloni âbeggedâ him for a photo at the G7.
The paperâs massive headline reads: âTRUMP Ă UN COGLIONE.â The vulgar Italian word coglione is commonly translated as âidiot,â âmoron,â or âasshole.â
I know she comes from a popular front party (Donât call us fascists) but her approach on Ukraine has been welcome and she doesnât give any shit. One of the better ones in their approach to Trump.
It would be amazing if someone was able to communicate to him that Syria really, really, really does not want to invade Lebanon. But that seems impossible.

I would also be overjoyed if some pedagogic genious was able to make Trump understand that states are not actually persons and that it is only in the USA (these days) and in totalitarian states with a persona kultus, that people even think such thoughts.
Trumpâs latest dribble about kidnapping the Iran negotiators shows just how empty his head is, do that and few would ever trust the US again, with anything, you do not put your people in line for thatâŚit would take several sensible presidencies to get anywhere near being trusted again.
Itâs hard to negotiate after you have lost a military campaign, if you think you have won it.
