There was a lot of continuity in the foreign policy roles between the Obama white house and Biden’s. The perspective was this was a team who were bringing not just experience, but a perspective of how the FP orthodoxy snookered Obama in certain ways and would need to be challenged to support America’s interests. And then they oversaw this travesty, utilizing the same “hug Bibi” strategy they had spent the 4 years out of office decrying.
If a Dem gets back in next time around it needs to be a clean slate as none of these people should be anywhere near any sort of position of power.

Major US Treasury auction of short term (6 month and 1 year) paper is taking place tomorrow. With Trump restarting his trade wars and escalating in the Persian Gulf, 10-year yields are now higher than they have been at any time in his presidency. Maybe another TACO, but the potential for significant damage tomorrow is unavoidable - a significant amount of US debt is about to be repriced. One wonders where all the GOP debt limit hawks have gone.

I believe in Medicare for all in principle. Our system as it is now is fucked and I dont think it can be reformed. But this is why Medicare for all cannot work in this country - even if you can pass it, the moment the GOP claw back enough power they will destroy it even at the cost of lives
