It is kind of funny to discover what the First Nations thought of the first Europeans. In several languages, the word for them is ‘the Hungry People’. They were appalled to discover early instances of cannibalism, for which there is far more in the historical record for Europe than North America - the few peoples that did practice cannibalism were seen as abhorrent.

It takes a special kind of incompetence to lose to Trump not once but twice, no matter how dull-witted and rabid significant parts of the population have become.
It cannot be overstated the degree to which Trump and the Republicans are held to a different standard than any Dem ever.
This week Trump announced a nuclear deal with the Saudis. Trump’s foreign policy advisor who has been heading this discussions is someone who has no official government position because he refuses to divest himself from his ongoing business, was bankrolled to the tune of 2 billion $ by the entity he was “negotiating” with. It is an enormous scandal on 3 or 4 different dimensions, and it simply doesnt exist as a story. There is not a single mention, neither from the perspective of CoI or the risk to national security of Kushner’s involvement in these talks (someone who failed a background check remember), in any of the coverage from WSJ, NYT, AP, Reuters, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, The Guardian, The Hill, Semafor, Washington Post, Fox News, New York Post, BBC, Newsweek, MS NOW. Compare that to how the supposed story of Biden self enrichment was covered by the same press? A story they knew wasn’t real.
The US lives lost in the exit from Afghanistan, something that was covered so intensely and critically that Biden never recovered from, vs the way the deaths in this Iran conflict are being covered.

I am intrigued by recent events. I have pondered it for a couple of weeks now, but Tim Poole’s recent post seems to confirm my suspicion.
Significant MAGA propaganda influencers have new marching orders; Laura Loomer and Tim Poole are now pushing the exact opposite of what they did months ago. When it comes to Loomer (demented, deranged and bigoted conspiracy theorist), I suspected it was mostly due to her rivalry with fellow demented propagandist Candace Owens (who are pushing hard the Kremlin line), but when fucking Tim Poole as well is posting this; then I am thinking that those who can be bought have been bought again.
I am literally suspecting either Ukrainian financing, or directives from…someone, to these prostitutes who previously have taken Russian money to push the exact opposite narrative. It is fucking suspicious this. And I doubt it is just about the narrative of who is seemingly winning the war at the moment

Also, may I just add. I hate all social media influencing (as in opposed to influencers, which I just look down on or view as corrupt; though hardly hate them), from right to centre to left and wish none existed. Yet they do exist, and in this day and age, people like me who want to eradicate influencers from the media sphere have lost that war long ago. Still, I resent their existance like the grumpy man I am.
Obviously, people like Loomer are worse than the average influencer. But they all speak to the lowest intellectual nominator anyway, as knowledgable people won’t read or listen to “influencers”. Their job exists only because people hate to read and google after all.

Johnny Depp proved multitasking is alive and well Thursday when he turned a promotion of his upcoming Christmas movie, “Ebenezer,” into what seemed to be a trolling of President Donald Trump.
The actor showed up at San Diego Comic-Con dressed as Scrooge and surprised attendees by popping out of a fake storefront marked with a “Scrooge & Marley” sign.
A crowd gathered around, with many wishing him “Merry Christmas!”
Depp responded in character.
“Do you have jobs? It seems as though you have so much spare time. Why are you here?” he said, before adding, “I can only say you’re all very, very strange people. Humbug!”
At one point, Depp ripped garlands from the gates, saying, “These are poison! Keep these away from children.”
When another performer protested Depp’s in-character antics, he sneered, “That’s on my property, which means that I own it.”
He then seemed to reference Trump’s sweeping tariff programs, telling the people in attendance, “And that you’re paying tax on it being there, ’cause everybody has to pay all that stuff. Putting tariffs on the gate.”
