I fully expect him to run for 2028. It’s clear that they won’t pause for any kind of restriction whatsoever. If you think they are then you’ve not been watching his presidency.

It is sort of pathetic how many people somehow think the 22nd Amendment will somehow magically be the one where the US Constitution works, when so many other clauses and amendments have been cast aside.

Big raft of stories recently about ICE arresting people at airports who are on expired visas. The issue with that is the visa is just an entry document and says nothing about your legal status. As long as the reason you were given the visa still applies and is verified by some other form of document (international students have to retain a form called an I-20 that is signed by their university advisor demonstrating they are enrolled and in good standing) then it is fine, in fact absolutely routine, to be here with a visa that has expired. All that means is that if you want to leave the country you have to go to the US embassy in your home country and get it renewed.
There are of course people on the right celebrating these stories, demonstrating yet again they have no idea at all how the system works or what the fuck they are talking about.

The more I hear Ossoff speak, the more enthralled I become. Think he is placing himself firmly into the people to take seriously for 2028. A ticket of he and Buttigieg is something I can get behind. Two younger, bright guys that have a penchant for getting directly to their points in understandable language for the masses. I think it could be a great ticket, either way, though there’s so many homophobes in the states, it would be more difficult if Mayor Pete were heading said ticket.

I like Pete but I think people have to pay a price for being part of Biden’s re-election effort, even if they were part only by being in his cabinet and not doing the right thing to vocally oppose the effort. So it’s a no for me from Pete.
But even independent of that Ossoff is better. They have a lot of similarities but pete always comes across like he being the very best surrogate messenger you could ask for. He leaves you thinking you might actually vote Dem if they put up a good candidate. Ossoff speaks and leaves you wanting to vote for him. It’s difficult to know how much of that is simply because Ossoff is taller and very handsome, but it’s at least part of it…the BDE. I think he also has an advantage from the new primary calendar as a lot of the SC TV market actually comes from Georgia (same phenomenon why so many in Iowa are Cardinals fans) and that probably gives him a leg up
