18m voters and only 2700 provisionally flagged by DHS (who are actively looking for hits) as potentially non citizen. After review only 117 were referred to the State AG, and of those only 7 were arrested. And of those 7 two were caught in real time and had their attempt to vote rejected.

Trump spends a significant portion of his first year in office trying to challenge the legality of the idea that he couldnāt fire the Fed chair because he was frustrated the Powell was not reducing rates .He eventually gets his new guy in place, and the new guy just raised rates for the first time years

I think they are in real trouble now, this is headed to disaster for US bonds. There has to be some concern that the bond market reaction was to trade downward until the announcement, then shoot up. The market expected a half point, evidently. Yield now closing in on 5.02
Warsh is getting squeezed by the market, undercut by Bessent, and now probably going to get blasted by Trump now. Earlier, I thought the market had decided a quarter was about right and settled on a yield that was below 5% - but not enough that it would not be disappointing.
They have fired their shot and missed their target. A lot can happen in 6 weeks, and a meeting the week before the election is not exactly one where a timid Fed will make a stand. The market will be anticipating a major move to make up for lost ground at the December meetings, which means sell your US Treasuries now.
