I went to see those Panda’s at Edinburgh zoo… big queue to see them… all they did was sit on the ground lounging about… lovely creatures though - I’ve still got the crushed 2pence piece you put through a machine as a reminder of your visit…

I think what appeals about the penguins is that they are one of the few animals that genuinely seem to enjoy being there. They get to bugger about all day and then a bloke turns up with a bucket of fish. It must beat huddling on an ice flow all day and trying to avoid getting eaten by orcas.

The penguins at Peaugres in the Ardèche I think was one of my favourites. Wasn’t there for feeding time either but my Grandson seemed more interested by the goats, there was a little nain goat that he thought was a baby and he ran round it for ages 
.
Tiger hunting was another, where the hell are they. How can you miss something so big . Then one appears and pissed on the glass above your head .

Remember when Trump sued the famous poll lady from Iowa and her newspaper for releasing a bad poll for him right before the election (The pre-election Selzer poll is a tradition)? Despite having only the power of a local paper with a readership of about 20,000, they fought it today they won in court.

A recent poll of Ohio voters reported that 25% of voters cannot identify which of the two senate candidates is currently in office. In the last general election a series of polls showed that large sections of voters have policy preferences better aligned with the Dems but think their preferences are the policies of the Republican they are going to vote for.
A bad actor cannot be held accountable if a population is so uninformed of who has done what and how things are supposed to work. Voters have such a strong sense of what they think the parties stand for that outweighs any need to actually know what is happening. That has given the Republicans 2-3 decades of incredible cover for not being able to deliver on any of those supposed strengths and their base not noticing and so still crediting them for being better on national security and the economy
