Drill Baby Drill...the US Politics Thread (Part 4)

In general, but not always, people who speak of “Restoration”, revanchism and the like, are reactionary fuck-tards who would march in black uniforms; just like these romantic dreamers here:

Video posted to show case ideology. Respect the hierarchy !

(and yes, I know this is originally an anti fascist song, but the guys above sing it uninronically).

[Verse 1]
Dressed in our uniforms so fine
We drank and killed to pass the time
Wearing the shame of all our crimes
With measured steps we walked in line

[Chorus]
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line

[Verse 2]
We carried pictures of our wives
And number tags to prove our lives

[Chorus]
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line

[Verse 3]
Full of glory never seen
We made it through the whole machine
To never question anymore
Hypnotic trance we never saw

[Chorus]
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line

[Verse 4]
Full of glory never seen
We made it through the whole machine
To never question anymore
Hypnotic trance we never saw

[Chorus]
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line
We walked in line, we walked in line

The irony of singing “hypnotic trance we never saw” unironically, never ceases to amaze me. :man_facepalming:

Last week Mullin was one of the news show to answer questions about another controversial ice shooting. He claimed, as justification for his agency’s pursuit of this person that he’d been involved in trafficking. He was corrected in real time that they assume he means the victim has traffic violations

He’s was in the running for the dumbest member of the senate before he got a promotion to the cabinet

It’s unbelievable that they are so thick. I understand fascists, like Russian ultras who harp on about the empire (they are honest, proud and blunt), but this idiocy is harder to fathom. It’s just very dumb, and often dishonest.
And that’s dangerous, because it makes people of intellect underestimate them and the damage they can do and do, too often, as we have seen in the past.

I am of course not insinuating that you are underestimating these forces. I know you don’t, obviously.

Says the woman who built an entire RW grifting career on the belief that she deserved to come 4th not the 5th place she was awarded in a college swim meet

You have to wonder if she feels the same about the 2020 election

This cycle has a real chance of finally having Texas go to a Dem in a statewide race. About 2 weeks ago though the Dem candidate, James Talirico, took himself of the campaign trail saying he had come down with flu. During that time the RW grift machine, including started a conspiracy theory about his absence. It was unexplained (it wasnt) and therefore had huge implications. There was one strain claiming he had undergone secret sex change ( ) but the one that seemed to gain the most traction was that he had checked himself into a mental health facility. A group of “Citizen Journalists” went live with their evidence for that and were exposed within minutes.

Now its all blown up in their faces and leaves a couple of people facing potential criminal liability for the lengths they went to to try to deceptively uncover evidence of his incapacitation, the line appears to be “we did nothing wrong, and even though our reporting was wrong we were still right because the mainstream media were not asking these questions (because the mainstream media already had the answer for his absence).”

Look at this as an example.

NYT publishes evidence of where Talirico has actually been, exactly what he had told us in real time was up. A RW commentator gets all pissy that it took this long for the MSM to ask the questions they were asking, not realizing that this story is now only relevant ONLY because the RW griftosphere showed their arse by committing so copletely to a story with nothing there and had no reason for being pursued. The NYT story is one about the lack of seriousness of RW discourse, not about Talarico, and even after getting exposed they still dont get it.

But take a further step back…there has been no whimper from any of these people over the actual extended absences from congress of two of their own this cycle. Tom Kean Jr was absent for 4 months not just without explanation, but his office refusing to answer questions about his conspicuous absence. And of course there was the 3 month absence from McConnell, and absence that has barely been addressed with his shell of a physical being getting rolled into congress to get weekend at Berniesed into casting votes.

The issue with this movement is not that I disagree with their priorities and goals. Its that they are just utterly unserious.

See this as an example. An episode right out of Veep by advertising in a region 3000 miles away from your intended target

This is the kind of basic shit you get wrong when you have cleansed your party of people with some knowledge.

Anyhow over in the UK its also interesting to see shifts in polling after ballots go out as it often gives you a feeling.

Happened with Brexit where the result 3-4 weeks was evidently closer than one near the time, though the polls were thrown by the Jo Cox murder. On this basis I reckon the Republicans are in real trouble.

Guess we will see.

This is amazing. Trump’s new press secretary has positioned herself as a lawyer but there is no record of her having passed the bar exam. When pressed on this today she said she passed it while in China, which if true would be an astonishing feat for someone not educated there.

He got himself a new Karoline Leavitt on Temu. She just did the “you dont know my girlfriend, she’s from Canada” with her supposed legal credentials.

“He’s only interested in cutting illegal immigration”

Basically this is a way of kicking out H1B workers half way through their visa term. It also makes the prospect of transitioning your legal status from H1B to legal permanent resident nigh on impossible, as that is generally done by extending the H1B on an annual interval, typically for several years, while the Green Card is processing.
