EFL Cup / League Cup

Leicester are playing Everton and Man City both away before and after this Cup game which means that they surely have to rest players.

The scheduling will change about a bit yet. Always does with the festive period as they work out what to televise.

Not the worst draw in the world given their schedule around the time and considering they’re in Europe this year as well I can’t see it being much of a priority for them. Should be a fun game to watch.

I wonder who will be managing Leicester by then?

Will still be BR.

No way would the Scum fans allow the club to appoint him as their manager - they would tear Old Toilet Bowl apart with their bare hands

I wouldn’t be so sure and I can think of 8 million reasons per year as to why Rodgers might be prepared to overlook the previously insurmountable hurdle of his Liverpool connection.

He might, but their fans definitely will not.

And if the club announced him as their new manager the Manc fans would rip the stadium down in protest

I don’t see it happening but I wouldn’t mind it happening either. I don’t think he’s got the character (lol) for that job.

I would love to see what he would say. When he was brought in by Liverpool he said that we were ‘a destination’…

So they’d respond to his arrival by improving the state of Old Trafford? :upside_down_face:

Be interesting to see how we handle the next round. I imagine Leicester will have this cup a high priority as a realistic chance for silverware.

Will we continue with the players we’ve seen so far or step it up a level and continue our run?

No reason why we shouldn’t win this competition. Nice to have the game at Anfield. Leicester are a decent side but far from great. Semi-final is two legged if we qualify.

Is it :flushed:, thought they scrapped that ruddy system :expressionless:

Good draw all around that to be honest.

Spurs vs West Ham - London derby, West Ham overperforming so far.
Arsenal vs Sunderland - If any team fuck up at home to League One opposition, it is Arsenal.
Brentford vs Chelsea - Brentford very tough to beat at home, Chelsea winning games but playing poorly.
Liverpool vs Leicester - Leicester in a good run of form, Rodgers back at Anfield etc.

Yeah- they can rest the first team against Everton.

LFC drawn at home in a cup QF?! Someone has blundered at the FA! Heads must roll for this fubar! :unamused:

Well after Man City were drawn away against an in form West Ham, anything is possible.

Fucking ridiculous. I hate this cup so much.

Do you think the League Cup games will go ahead?
