How can there be no added time when there’s been two goals?
England should be winning this easily, they are faster, are technically … they just win every department easily.
Yet the Danes are organised and have a tactic.
Southgate is crap, you don’t give your players free role at this level, England end up doing nothing. They need a captain that understands tactics and domination (which isn’t being the most agressive and stupid).

Nothing too surprising so far. Denmark well discliplined and playing well as a unit, but not really making many chances, most they,'ve had coming from mistakes. England not quite clicking but have a number of goal threats.

That was entertaining. Neither team in this game will sack the other. It is likely to be a 2-1, 2-2 (eztra time etc.) 1-2, 3-1 or 1-3 and everything in between. But England will not devastate Denmark with 3-4 goals like some people perhaps thought.

Ref probably thought that there will be extra time anyways, so why prolong the inevitable, and also catch the last bus home.

Well, it was nine miles out, shite and Pickford plays for Everton. I’d have saved it and I hung the gloves up in 1994 (playing for Cheshire I’ll add)

Indeed, he’s given the side a much better balance. Bit of a mixed half in terms of what’s came off for him but at least he’s provided a constant willingness to show for the ball and been direct with it once he gets it. Very intelligent little player and someone I think is pretty underrated, all the hype surrounding the likes of Sancho, Mount, Grealish and Foden wouldn’t be misplaced on him either.

Where is he from ? If German, I have noticed that German ref’s for some reason I have never entirely understood, don’t give extra time to speak of after first halves no matter what has transpired in the game. But German refs are not alone there, many refs for some reason don’t give enough added time after first halves.
Edit: His name is Danny Makkelie and he is Dutch.

If England play with a bit of confidence and on the front foot, they’ll put this game to bed in the 2nd half, IF.
Their goal was a great hit but was terrible goalkeeping. Alison would have saved it because it would have gone straight down his throat. That was terrible positioning by Pickford.
I cannot believe how far off-center his starting position is. the kick is far enough away he will have time to scramble back to the far post, so why set up so far over and relinquish the near post corner? the ball was 2m from the post and he still couldn’t get there. just shocking, and he will say the same when he sees the playback

Really miss that dynamic centre midfielder who can shoot though. So many times the ball runs out of the box begging for Gerrard or Lampard to be on the end of it.

Saka and Sterling should win this for England. They have those CBs beat at any moment (who look more like man mountains than international footballers).
Still I like what Denmark are trying to do, completely nemused by what England are doing, only Phillips and Rice seem to have any role.
The number of absurd errors he has is unbelievable for a player who views himself as such a safe pair of hands he could publicly chastise Ali for his fuck up against Leicester that one time. Amusingly, in the US coverage Macca commented that a keeper should be saving that, but maybe one with longer arms would have.

Noticed this particularly in this tourney. Not the first time the whistle has blown with no extra time added this summer. Must have been in a ref memo or something about what they can add time for.
