If England’s midfield got involved then maybe Kane and others would be more involved. IMO Rice needs to be Mounted.

I hope it’s eventually DCL for Kane and not Rashford. I’ve seen enough of Rashford I think. Eventually would think we’ll see mount, Grealish, Sancho, or Foden. Maybe two of the above with another CM and we’ll go back to 4-3-3 and try to win this. But probably not.

Phillips was unlucky in that he won the ball but his foot rolled over it a red would have been harsh. That happens a lot in lower divisions and it’s laughed at.

I don’t think so, nothing was malicious. Just good aggression, attempted tackle, and mistiming. It happens and those are yellows for me.
It is going to be interesting now though, Kalvin can’t be as aggressive now and needs to be more cautious. That could in theory lead to German chances…

This is a wonderful goal fest and edge of the seat stuff. 
this game is screaming for a creative midfielder on England’s behalf. the two fellas in the middle of the pitch are walking around and not creating passing lanes for the CB to move the ball up the pitch.
really boring to watch, TBH. midfield gets the ball, and passes it back. then resume pylon mode.

I dont think you pick this team if you think possession and passing the through them is a way to hurt the Germans. They’re been sent out of provide a lot of defensive support and hurt them on the break, and I dont know that you can get Mount or Grealish on the pitch without not just a change in formation, but a change to the theory of the case of how this england team can beat this german team.

Before Werner fucked that up with his imperfect first touch, that was an exquisite run on the flank there and a beautiful ball in. Imo, England should have protected that flank a tad better though. But it was a transition, but even so.
