Predictably safe and boring to watch again from an England point of view. Barely any creative ideas other than to chip balls over the defenders to a player who either can’t control it on one side and on the other side keeps overrunning the ball. Phillips did well against Croatia, today him and Rice have been playing so slowly and passively, nothings going forward from either of them.
Surely two of Sancho, Rashford or Grealish have to come on soon.
