Just look at that Italian press ! It is magnificent, the Turks, if their long pass is not 100% accurate, have no time at all on the ball before being surrounded. Very impressive then to see how fast Italy then turns a Turkish counter into an attack of their own.
And this is a Turkish team with very good results lately.
Turkey back 5 are so narrow and deep to protect the goal!

First dangerous situation from Turkey on an actually good counter for once. But keeper should probably have been able to hold it even.

Insigne is head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. His movement significantly better than Immobile (no way of talking about him without sounding like I’m trying to make a shit pun).

With the low block from Turkey, Italy needs to be the box and dribble, see if they can get a pen, or get the Turkey players frightened to put in a tackle.
It can of course happen, but they have been dominated so far and not been able to string together a coherent counter attack except that single time .
Actually, when I wrote that, A turkish player pressed the Italian keeper. A very rare sight.

Italy needs a bit more precision and now it has been a few minute since Italy’s last chance. Turkey has still created nothing though, but intensity of the game is a bit down now.

In Ice Hockey this is called PowerPlay.
Turkey can’t impossible have this game plan, their defence sits much too deep which will in time, bring too many medium distance shot opportunities for Italy if this goes on.
