There it is. Switzerland the best team of course, but the best team doesn’t always win (thankfully, or football would be far more predictable). Switzerland a bit disappointing, particularly how they invited Wales into the game after they scored. Before they scored, they fully controlled Wales and hindered any dangerous attempts with relative ease. But then they took the foot off the pedal, less agressive, serves them almost them right in the end to pay for that.
I have seen Switzerland much better than this though. Wales is, I don’t know. They are a bit like I expected. An underdog that is very limited but that can take points from other teams when their transitions works.
My opinion is that the Swiss kit is horrific.
I wonder if we have a sell-on clause? I think Danny Ward’s value, and his attraction to potential buyers, just went up a hell of a lot.
I’m not sure I fancy Wales getting through now, Turkey are going feel like they are at home and I saw very little from them that would convince of them getting a result, too much on Bale who look knackered after that half run.
Not sure why he didn’t look at Neco or Wilson seemed over reliant on Bale and a lump ball to Moore, not the team of a few years back.
If Wales’ game plan revolves around Kieffer Moore, then they’d be better off having Wilson on the pitch for the set pieces.
Bale and James were set up to counter, but apart from one situation, they didn’t do much. Especially James with the Swiss right back having an early yellow card. Should’ve used that situation to his advantage.
Getting the draw is a big result for Wales. They’re right in the mix to qualify. Was important not to lose.
Cool head bands effect. That’s why Moore scored a goal.
Good analysis. Far too much route one stuff and too many of the players look knackered after a strenuous season in England. I expect the same of the England team: knackered and unimaginative.
Probably not the route one but most teams have had this season it’s not an excuse, though probably a bit more for Wales.
Subs were odd, he made two and the first with 15 minutes for probably their player with the most energy in Daniel James (as much as a moaner fuck he was).
As I said I forgot Brooks was welsh but then again he disappeared like the rest of them when he came on.
I know many hate Savage but in a way I kind of liked that, he is passionate but he isn’t a sulk about it, and Ashley Williams kidding himself that Wales played well.
Saddest thing is I think that welsh team could be pretty good on the counter but we only saw it once with James.
If game is played in Baku, then Turkey is at home (according to Turks).
That a game is even played in Azerbdjan after their vile war crimes of the last year, with plenty of filmed torture and executions, is a travesty in itself. They still hold many hundred of Armenian POWs and are denying visits from the Red Cross. It is a criminal and despicable regime. Those POW’s are getting tortured, sometimes to death. A lot of this is filmed as well, but no one cares. Over 200 POWs are held at this moment in time at undisclosed locations. Very many have been executed in captivity, one famous video that circulated showed Azerbadjani soldiers beheading an Armenian POW and then sewing the head of a donkey on his corpse. There is a lot of stuff like that.
I fucking loath that state so much that I don’t even have words for it.
On the matter of no one cares and how Azerbadjan gets away with absurd torture and murder:
Degenerate regime.
It’s pretty much home for them though isn’t it, had a fair few in today, sadly sports washing trumps everything.
Pffft…
A poor game between two poor teams who will be shown up for what they are in their two next group games, against far superior sides.
Not much more to say than that, really…
A word to the wise. It should be POW.
POV is point of view.
thank you, I know that of course ( I mean, I know war is written war, lol), but for some reason when I abbreviated, I consistently wrote the wrong letter ! Mea Culpa…
Not sure that Turkey team looked shite too.
Remind me: why did we sell Ward again?
Schmeichel is 6 years older than Alisson, so I imagine Ward saw (sees) a path to the #1 spot at Leicester.

As if being drawn in a group with Germany, reigning European champions Portugal and reigning world champions France wasn’t bad enough, Hungary will also have to do without Dominik Szoboszlai the talented 20-year-old, undoubtedly their most prominent player.
Szoboszlai scored the decisive last-minute goal against Iceland to send Hungary to Euro 2020, but sustained an injury earlier this season and has not made his Bundesliga debut for Leipzig since switching from RB Salzburg in the January transfer window.
For Portugal all eyes will by on Ronaldo, likely his last major tournament. To progress past the group stage they must win this game. Which is easier said than done.
Last Euros these teams drew 3:3.
Jota starts
Very interested to see how good Portugal are.
Quite sure Portugal will beat Hungary, unless Hungary goes for more primitive tactics, which I honestly don’t think they will. Mind you, not seen them for 6 months or so and far from having expertise concerning their team (as in light years away), but when I have seen them previously, they have tried to play ball a lot in the midfield and tried for possession play. I don’t think that will work against Portugal as their transitions tends to be very dangerous and they do indeed have superior technicians and players in general.
I guess I am curious about Hungary too. Will be interesting to see how they approach this game.
I thought they were quite attacking if I remember the write up.
