I think he represented both England and Germany at youth level. Löw’s pitch won in the end.
He’s going to be some player.

Hungarian hools were chanting ‚Deutschland Deutschland homosexuell’ all night.
Quite ironic, seeing that Hungary’s biggest export is lesbian porn.
Or so I’m told.
I’m going to call Germans Rainbow people from now on, if that’s ok?

The first game of Group C gives us one of the favourites – namely the Netherlands, against Ukraine, a team who performed surprisingly well in the qualifications. The legendary stadium, Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam, is where the battle will take a place, which additionally increases the hopes of the home team. However, Ukraine shouldn’t be without chance here considering their recent performances.
The team qualified for the tournament thanks to their extraordinary performance during the qualifications. The squad won six games, drew twice, and didn’t lose a game. Mighty impressive for a country such as Ukraine. The nation’s strongest quality is their defence, and the team only conceded four goals at the qualifications.
Gut feeling: 1-1
I will be rooting for Ukraine in this game and given my track-record, they will probably be humiliated by an atrocious Dutch team. I think this is the worst Dutch team I have seen since I started to follow them during the 1988 Euro.
They were pretty awful (for them) last year, but yeah, they have been on a downward trajectory for a while. But now there will be several games, so will be interesting to see how good they really are.
As for Ukraine, I don’t know. Previously they have been pretty okay, but that was years ago.
We’ll see. I am excited for this game.
I really like this Netherlands side. Some exciting players, yet oddly still a bit of an enigma.
I stand beside you @Dutch.
I’m with Netherlands… Hup Holland Hup!
The Dutch have improved under Koeman and before him it was very bad. So bad that they had not qualified for the last few tournaments. However, Koeman left and frankly I don’t think the current manager is good. They will probably qualify out of the group but they are certainly no favourites
The seventh game and finally we get a decent commentary team here in the UK.
The broadcaster is showing some kids wearing Eriksen kit, or holding up signs for Eriksen to get well soon.
Wow, what a start of a match from both side.
What an effort from Memphis.
Good chance there on the break, very nice counter by the Neterlands. But I was honestly a bit dismayed and in fact, a bit shocked, at how unstructured the Dutch defense were there in the situation before the counter. Ukraine could really have scored there if the movements were correct, surprised to see Netherlands seem so much like headless hen at the back there.
Ukraine’s attack is very well organised. This is going to be interesting. Punch and counter punch.
What a save. Good shot by Dumfries.
Gini, needs to be on target!
