Sorry, just saw this, was away from home for a few weeks. Still watching almost all games, but being less active on the forum.
Not a good tournament from us. We havenât played a good Euro since 2008 and to a certain extent 2016. In our case, itâs indeed that the Euroâs are a bit more difficult than World Cups.
It was a tough group, again getting Spain and Italy like in 2012, but our performances simply didnât deserve us going through.
Overall, the way we conceded goals, other than the way we played at this tournament, was the biggest disappointment.
Also, getting into real trouble against Albania, which was our key game to possibly qualify.
Of course itâs a shame when youâre so close to still qualify, but I canât feel too sorry for them because those are simply too cheap goals. Have to manage the final minutes (and seconds!) much better.
Some debatable moves by our head coach (who will stay at least for WC26) and he also wasnât helped by drops of club form by certain key individuals, players being injured this season, just recovering, etc.
We lack pace in our side, although weâre still very good at keeping possession even against stronger sides on paper, but the defending just wasnât on the right level. When you lack more cutting edge up top and goals, you simply have to avoid cheap goals at the back to give yourself a better chance.
Good luck to Switzerland, by the way. Pretty positive so far.

Itâs a weird team. Onana is their midfielder and yet heâs playing ahead of KdB and Carasco demanding its them who advance the ball from deep to him.
I like Openda, finally got a start.
