In the city league I play in, there are still legends of a match over 20 years ago, where a Serbian team played a Croatian team. Fourteen red cards. That has to be some kind of record. Obviously, a match is not continuing with four-a-side, but the final melee (when it was 9v7) that produced abandonment was apparently epic, supposedly involving two dogs.
Funny thing is I played against both those teams, both filled to the brim with skilled hard-nosed fellows, but sound people after the match.
