I suppose that they could always save it until the next tournament like I did. Unfortunately, a football shirt that fitted in your 20s may not be quite as comfortable in your 50s.

Around here, 90s football shirts seem to be a thing for young hip people, see plenty of girls wearing them as, I guess, fashion items. Probably easier on the eye than what you’re describing though.

Horrible fashion, here the age group of my kids have a wardrobe of ‘maillots’. When Liverpool played Chelsea my daughters ‘boy friend’ would wear a Chelsea shirt … luckily for him he didn’t have a Man U shirt might have ended badly for one of us.
