Ex-player: Arthur MELO

@Kopstar Are players’ wages insured against injury?

imagine the fucking premiums at this club…

The lot of you, imagine the first response being about his wages.

As opposed to the very real human being who’s trying to make a career comeback only to suffer yet another setback.

on 50k a week…

Yes, it’s a sad story. Like most others I was underwhelmed when we signed Arthur. But then on second thoughts I half wondered if he might be a shrewd signing. He was really good a couple of years ago, and hasn’t played much football lately, due to a myriad of reasons, including changes at the club he plays for. Unfortunately he found himself out of favor.

So we did a low risk, low cost deal, and inserted an option to buy, should the fella kick in and show his best. When he arrived he wasn’t ready to play, so he started working his ass off to get himself into the manager’s thinking.

And now injury.

Gutted for the fella.

And obviously gutted for us too, as we can’t catch a break in the engine room, with everyone dropping like flies.

All the more reason for 4231 by the way. We only need to find two fit midfielders, and not three.

This deal has been a complete fuck up from the start.
Hes hardly played for 2 years due to injury, so come to lfc where we love an injury to midfielders and low and behold he’s injured…without even playing.

Gutting for him but send him back to Juve now.

I expect him to still be here in 4 years time having played about 500 minutes football. We can rotate him with the OX.

He will recover and he’ll stay at least through May.
Considering the World Cup he’ll hang out with several players and trainers. His recovery will be amongst his team mates and he’ll build relationships and overcome confidence issues.

Our team is actually a solid unit where each team member supports and is supported by others. See Karius and Ox.

Let’s prove the media and all those who hate our club wrong and help the guy recover.

Injuries can happen sure but we paid 4.5m for a season loan of this fella at the end of the window when he hadn’t played in a long time and was known to be a long way from ready to play. Not a smart signing and not low risk when we needed another body in midfield and his long term injury (apparently from trying to get fit!) basically means we’ve thrown away the loan fee when he clearly couldn’t pass a medical when we signed him.

Bad deal and we need to make sure we fuck these Italian clubs over in return. After aqua man these cunts owe us big time and no Salah and Alisson don’t count as we paid what were considered ‘overs’ at the time for them both.

I’m fairly certain he was meant to be up to speed within a few weeks, rather than the months you seem to be suggesting. He’s suffered an unfortunate injury, but otherwise it was a shrewd deal. He would probably have gotten game time in either the Rangers game or tomorrow if not for this.

He’s missed 5 league games in 2020-21 due to injury, and 10 in 2021-22 due to injury, of which 6 was an operation.

Get a grip, you’re simply pathetic. By your logic, any player who has the temerity to get an injury should have their contract terminated immediately.

Shame.

What can you do. Perhaps he pushed himself hard lately, which is the only way to impress here. Klopp named it as a “normal, muscle injury”.

There are no guarantees. Loans on deadline day have their disadvantages and reasons why they happen. Arthur’s career wasn’t looking great lately.

If he comes back we’ll see if he can earn some game time to even get to a position to prove if he can be a player here.

Poor guy won’t even get any credit for the quintuple.

To be honest, what is our medical department doing in terms of injury prevention? Our injury rate is awful.

Someone please exorcise Kirkby! This injury situation is getting beyond ridiculous. We need to shut the revolving door that leads to our physio room.

Gutting news for the player, I’m not sure it changes much for us anyway though. Wasn’t particularly convinced he was going to figure much at all for us this season. Signing an unfit injury prone midfielder to help our current situation with an aging collection of injury prone midfielders wad always going to be a risk.

Yep. Never looked like a smart signing and its 4.5m we don’t have for signings

What? He did pass his medical, otherwise he wouldn’t have been signed in the first place.
