Ex-player: Fabio "FABINHO" TAVARES

He’s been a vital cog when we’ve won it all. Appreciate him for that.

If there’s 1 thing that can never be re-written, it’s history. People having their version of events does exist however and every single person (from fans to opposition fans to managers to journalists to ex-team mates) will choose to remember a player how they want…for the good, bad or ugly. Truth be told, even the greats of their eras probably went through all 3 at some point (well, certainly a lot more good than the other 2). Ultimately none of it really matters when he’s got the trophies and medals to show for it that 95% of players could only dream of having.

Disagreeing with a delusional opinion is not re-writing history, especially so when it has been stated for nearly 4 years already.

He’s been fairly muck for the past 18 months, maybe more,as has been said many times over that period. The season before last when going for the quadruple it was the midfield which let us down imo and Fab was a big part of that.He ran out of steam and has never really recovered. When he came in he was badly needed and became great as part of a unit with Hendo,Gini and Milner, but that time is long gone.
As said there are a number of people who have been saying this for quite a while now so no rewriting of history going on,just a continuation of what has been said before.

Nobody is denying he was terrible the whole of last season, it’s the nonsense suggesting he was only made to look good by those around him and he was poor for the majority of his time here.
It’s the sort of shite you read on Evertonian forums and paints Klopp in a bad light.
I’ll leave you to get on with it.

Evertonians know a bad player when they see one

It doesn’t at all paint Klopp in a bad light. Just the opposite in fact, he got more out of Fabinho than anyone else would have done. He took a good but limited player, identified areas he needed protection and figured out the puzzle to make him part of one of the best sides of all time.

It only enhances Klopp’s credentials.

What does Klopp think about all the bullshit in this thread?

Klopp couldn’t sell him quick enough.

Lol

No. Wijnaldum was the new Lucas thread.

This one is the new Wijnaldum thread.

At the same time this is one of the threads to blame Fab for everything bad that happened last season so that we don’t have to talk about how bad Hendo was, or what a shit rightback Trent was or how Joe Gomez is stealing a living for the last three years here.

Doubt Lucas, Gini and Fab would be talked about so bad if they were English (let alone scouse).

Yep, he really wrote that.

Good night y’all.

Gini thread was nothing but a pale imitation of the performance art piece that was the OG Lucas thread.

This is shaping up quite nicely, on the other hand.

There is no amount of quality, mature performances Jones can put in that can make some people drop the idea that he’s like some transparent community outreach project that requires us to fill a quota of locally born players, rather than as one of the best 22 year olds in the world.

I am in agreeance with what Sweeting and Illok have said, but for me the same could be said of Gini and Hendo and Milly to some degree as individual players they were so so, but as a functioning unit, at times it was unbeatable.

However, football has moved on, the quality IMO has taken a step forward with teams trying to play the right way and pressing as a team. Therefore, we now need players that are more technical on the ball and with the ball also have the fitness to get around the pitch both offensively and defensively.

On Fab, thank you you were part of a successful team and you embraced the club and gave your all and we all loved the comments/tweets from your better half

That is true. None of the 4 were world class players, they just did a good enough job of supporting the world class players around them. Alisson, Trent, Van Dijk, Mane and Salah were the players that every side in the world would have taken, nobody out of the middle. Trent was miles better at 19 than any of those midfielders ever were.

I doubt nationality has anything to do with it ,if it did then Downing,Cole and Koncesky would be remembered more fondly.
