Ex-player: Naby KEITA

That fall against Barca in the first leg of the semi was a really nasty looking one. That was the one he rushed back from for Guinea and then came back for pre-season injured and never really got going again after that.

His injury record. He seemed to have had a pretty bad injury at the last stages of his RBL career.

Who on here said they bet once he joined his new club they bet he would be injury free. :grinning::grinning:

At this point we could have a drinking game based on the frequency of his injuries

I think they meant weā€™d (LFC) be injury free

Youā€™d soon end up leglessā€¦ quite apt.

Werder Bremen are reportedly fuming with how the signing of Naby Keita has panned out, with the former Liverpool player yet to play for his new club,

According to Bild, the Bundesliga side are not pleased with Keitaā€™s fitness, with the midfielder picking up an injury in pre-season that has kept the 28-year-old out on the sideline for the entire campaign.

I feel for him, because he obviously had talent and ability, but his body just isnā€™t up to the challenge of top level professional sports.

Heā€™s also been the victim of being by far and away the best player on his national team. This means he plays every minute of every international match (when anywhere near fit) and, given the standard of some of the pitches, he invariably returns from international duty in a worse state than he was in when he left.

Six broken legs as opposed to 5?

or. heā€™s just a lazy cunt who doesnā€™t want to have to play for a living. would rather collect a cheque for doing nothing.

See this fella

Hard to believe that heā€™s a lazy cunt who didnā€™t want to play - he wouldnā€™t have made it as far as he did in his career (playing in the Bundesliga and convincing many clubs he was going to be great) before the injuries took their toll.

I put it down to bad luck.

When he was fit and available. He did do the hard work. Not his fault that he was simply made of glass. The same as Ox. Liverpool would have done a lot better if one of the two at any point of time was match fit and ready for a sustained period.

I donā€™t believe in coincidences. He put in the work until his got his big money payday. Then he checked out. Think Keita was on Ā£120k/week? Whatā€™s that, 30mil over 5 years? set for life.

Now heā€™s doing the same thing in Germany as he was at LFC. collecting a paycheque on reputation.

I forsee a bit shift in contracts being handed out in the near future, being heavily performance based. Theyā€™ll get a base salary, with increases based on appearances and team success.

I think his salary in Germany is pretty low. Indicative of the fact that no other club went for him. 30k a week. Not a bad deal for a CL winner / PL winner. Itā€™s not like heā€™s doing a Pogba / Hazard / Coutinho style of daylight robbery.

thatā€™s still 1.5mil/year. not a ā€œlowā€ salary.

Compared to what he was earning in Liverpool , which is 120k a week , Thatā€™s a low salary.

And relatively still risk free still for werder. They can easily look to transfer him for a couple of million to another club if he does seem to show signs of recovery from his injury.

itā€™s actually ā‚¬48k/week, or 2.5mil/year

Heā€™s joint-highest paid player on their squad. not winning himself any favors over there.
