Ex-player: Roberto FIRMINO

A 2 year extension on reduced terms is a good deal for all parties, he certainly has something to offer but he’s also certainly lost some energy so can’t be the starter week in week out.

You’d expect he’ll get a lot of minutes come Jan in a front three of Salah - Firmino - Diaz…

Oh great. I really hoped that lads will get some vacation during this break.

You think Sherlock … :see_no_evil::joy:

Good to see the boys have some time off.

Quite a year for our Bobby…

he’s scoring on and off the pitch now!

He’s a fertile lad, isn’t he? Is that his fifth?

I miss Bobby. Fuck this World Cup.

4th with this lady. :heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

Newborn babies take him to double figures when he struggles to get them on the pitch.

:joy:

Caught offside…

That means we’ve either not offered him a new deal at all or it’s for double what he’s on right now.

That would mean at least until he’s 34, possibly more.

It’s normal that the player in this situation wants the most years he can get (we’ll also see if this is more or less the end of his international career), but I don’t want us to give him a too long contract.

Unfortunately time for the Bobby Firmino farewell tour. Definitely going to be legendary.

Gakpo doesn’t mean the end of Bobby.

Was only a few weeks ago we entered talks of a new deal, player himself wants to stay and I think after the season he’s had so far, he’s earned himself a 2 year extension.

I don’t think six (Diaz, Jota, Nunez, Bobby, Salah, and Gakpo) attackers are too much considering our fixture load and fitness record. I think Firmino can assume the Milner role next season. Of course, Firmino may wish to play more often and he may decide to leave.

Gakpo in, Firmino out?

“No. We had talks with Bobby. From my point of view I want him definitely to stay. It has no impact. If it affects Bobby then you’d have to ask him.”

As I expected.

6 main forwards for next season.

Quadruple is on again. :sunglasses:

We’ll sort that out next summer.

Plus, the midfield situation overall is certainly not as catastrophic as it’s made to be lately.

When you hear football public these days, it sounds like we have no midfield at all.

I’d rather see him stay than go at this stage. He seems settled and happy at Liverpool, gets plenty of game time and can do a job. It will be down to his desire - accept reduced terms here (and keep your life settled and family settled), or take a final big pay day elsewhere and move. Maybe a bit of a Gini situation, albeit I think he was on less than what Bobby is on now.

One thing is for certain, of the players who’s contracts are coming to an end, Bobby is the one to hold on to if any - Ox and Naby are leaving in the summer…I hope.
