For someone like Mane, bar Luton and maybe Bournemouth, you would push the boat out on wages if you could pick up for less 20M someone that 1 year ago was in the top 3 for Ballon D’or, was a consistant goal threat (in both goals scored and assisted) in a side that won the C/L and P/L plus made 2 other C/L finals.
City are the only team that wouldn’t see a significant strengthening of the squad by signing him and Utd wouldn’t sign him because of the liverpool connection even though he would massively improve them. Any other P/L team would be mad to not be giving this serious consideration.
Edit: Also, at 31, going on 32, I doubt he will see any new contract that offers him a payrise, unless he goes chasing the cash and signs for a Saudi club
Bayern was his last big paycheck and those wages are likely to be a sticking point. I did wonder whether he may be offered to Spurs in part ex for Kane.

He’s earning 350k per week at Bayern. For 14/20 PL clubs including us , that’s a big outlay to keep.
I can see Newcastle taking him on though.

But being in his 30’s that is the final contract where he will earn that sort of money, unless he goes to Saudi. Dropping his wage down to maybe 250K with a 18M transfer fee makes him achievable for most P/L clubs bar prbably Luton and maybe Bournemouth.
All the more reason for him to stay at Bayern. There will be other CL offering clubs who can offer him that wage if he does want to move. As far as Saudi goes ,He can go there once his contract with Bayern is in his last year.

With the exception of Newcastle , Man Utd & Tottenham , I don’t see any other clubs who would afford to take him who really need him. Tottenham especially if they sell Kane. Man Utd is probably ruled out due to his liverpool connections.

Loved him at Liverpool, but I think the timing in letting him go was perfect, even if we did have a bad first season without him. In his last two years with us, there were long periods where he struggled and signs he was past his best.
He hasn’t been a success at Bayern on the pitch and there may have been issues off it too, depending on what you read.
I really can’t see any PL club offering him a deal for 300-350k a week, especially as he’d likely be seeking a 2-3 year deal.
Fantastic player, great guy by all accounts… but his future is behind him.

There’s always a chance that he could go to one of the PIF clubs only to be loaned back to the premier league to Newcastle in order for them to not violate FFP. That’s a loophole as of now and I wouldn’t put it beyond any entities with the power to not do exactly that.

They changed a lot of structures and positions lately, also missing a proper first choice striker for a season. So it’s a bit of a mess and needs clarity again.

There will be a sizable number of Bayern players who are mistrustful of Sadio forming cliques within a club etc. That happens quite a lot of times when a high profile player signs up and he needs to form relationships again. Sadio in LFC is a well liked player , yes he had his moments of very slight controversy (being unhappy at being substituted etc) but I refuse to believe that his actions w.r.t Sane didn’t have some needling behind the scenes etc.
