Ex-Player: Takumi MINAMINO

Wait so does someone on this thread actually know how Klopp feels? Can I get some tickets?

I want to go watch Taki! :joy::joy::joy:

If we’re not going to replace Minamino or Origi, there’s no point in letting them go. We’re still in four competitions and need all the squad.

Not going well for @redalways

That wasn’t the point being made. The point being made was that you would have presumed that in terms of rotation, since we have a viable option for the left, we would have used it, according to your logic. But it didn’t happen. In fact, if anything, your logic implies that we would have rested ManĂ© more so we don’t burn him out this season.

And therefore fewer minutes for Jota/Minamino/Origi, no?

Or, we decided to let him go when he wanted to go. The two seasons before he left us, he was playing the amount of minutes we regularly see the less favoured players getting, and there were many people crying about not replacing him, you one of them.

Under JĂŒrgen Klopp? He played tons, all of 2 games against the mighty Exeter in 2 FA Cup matches, and then as a late substitute getting a couple (literally) of minutes against West Ham in the same competition.

Why would I have a need to demonstrate effusive praise in favour of KonatĂ©? He’s already getting more than enough. Most of the detractors temper their criticism rightly with the point that he’s young and is learning anyway. I’m over in another thread defending ManĂ© whom some think is over the hill but you’re being selective about the examples you choose, why I wonder.

How does that compute? If your last point holds, then selling Minamino wouldn’t be an issue at all, and arguably now would be a good time since by your logic, he’s not going to get much game time, and if he does, it’ll worsen his value, in combination with his contract running down.

That’s because he doesn’t need to. If you think he’s ever not being genuine about our players you’re having a laugh. Or you have a particular agenda. Contrary to what you believe, he does most of his motivational work behind closed doors.

It’s not the vast majority I’m disagreeing with though is it? It’s just 2 particular people who can’t accept the simple statement of “someone that the coaching staff rates a lot better than fans do”, feeling the need to denigrate his contributions, and claim that he’s not good enough on the basis that the manager happened to prefer players who are more naturally suited to a particular position.

See, I disagree. I don’t think you’re in “Taki bashing mode”. I don’t think “he’s not enough for us” either. But what you’ve offered mostly is fair, but debatable criticism.

I think though that his touch is very erratic, sometimes (like the equaliser against Leicester, or his goal for Southampton against Chelsea) it can be really good, but sometimes it’s not so good. With regards to the outlet, he’s often making runs and calling for the ball only to get ignored.

Wow @redalways are you literally coming in to still argue our depth in attack is great on the day it breaks we are adding a left winger for £50m (inc bonuses)? Man just give up. Its quite possible we are selling the players you’re desperately trying to defend being here! If we don’t we are adding another starting quality attacker to what we already have.

Actually meant Moreno, mixed up my useless Spanish left backs. Moreno wasn’t good enough, was moved on for not being good enough when possible but whilst still here got 90 appearances under Klopp.

Lovren wasn’t good enough and was moved on when possible for not being good enough. But whilst here Klopp used him and he got 141 appearances.

Klopp uses players who he has. He isn’t like some other managers that he’ll force players out the club or not play them if he doesn’t want them.

Your whole defence of these players boils down to the fact they’re still here and they sometimes get used. But that’s just Klopp. It doesn’t mean the players are good enough to be effective at the level we are competing at.

Was that really necessary?

Anyways, I feel for taki. Brought in to play the Shaqiri role. Extra attacker, something different but never really the right skill set for that. Think playing him in our winger position was never going to suit his style. Not quick enough. Seems ox has beaten him to being Bobby’s backup in the “false 9” version of our front line.

Still think he’s a PL player, just maybe not a PL attacker at the greatest club in the world

His whole argument has revolved around the fact we don’t have enough minutes for the likes of Minamino and Origi to play more, that if they weren’t good enough they wouldn’t be here and if Klopp wasn’t happy he’d have bought upgrades. He’s put post after post all over the two threads arguing over and over but nobody came in here to point out how he’d clearly been wrong till he came on to post big long argumentative posts AGAIN.

I will continue to be a fan of Taki the person and player even if I accept it hasnt worked here yet, but now I want him out of the door ASAP just to make this back and forth to end.

I hope Takumi goes to the Bundesliga. He speaks some German so he will be more at home there and it will be tactically more suitable for him.

We should try and sell him on the cheap to Dortmund, let them know they owe us one and then get Taki to start wormtonguing Haaland, Reyna and Bellingham.

Dortmund will possibly get Adeyemi.

Fine, let Taki tongue him as well.

Looks like the end of the road for Taki.

Wonder how much they offered? I think if Diaz gets over the line we may see some quick moves on deadline day.

Do our deal and then look to move at least one of them on. I kind of see Minimino going rather than Origi

Not sure why Origi would move now for anything but s cracking deal to a real good club. Any wages and signing on fees he is offered now with a purchase will be higher in the summer with no fee to be paid.
