Well that particular problem wonāt be solved by going to another English club! He must have faced the same problem when he arrived in a German speaking environment but he flourished in it. Got to be a football matter I think.

Like others I feel for him. Heās joined us as a Champions League and PL challenging side and flying and for whatever reason itās not working for him. And then he gets shipped off to Southampton short notice. Thatās hardly a great move for someone trying to settle in a new country etc.
I hope he gets playing time as that will help.
I thought the same at the time, Hendo ended up making sure he actually lifted the trophy. I put it down to the fact he didnāt play many games and maybe did not feel like he earned the right to participate, but maybe it was down to language issues.
Iāve been in the same boat, moving to a country where I didnāt speak the language, itās not easy to settle in and to do your day job when you cannot easily have a chat with your colleagues.
Anyway, I hope the move goes well for him, and I hope he gets a chance to come back to us.

Iām absolutely fine with us developing a good relationship with Southampton. Good manager, nice good players and seem a decent likable club to me.

He just hasnt been given a chance. Klopp prefers Origi and cannot find a place for him in this side no matter how well or poorly we are playing.

Surprised we let him leave, as with our luck, come March, weāll probably have Sadio/Mo/Bobby all out injured, with Jota not even returned.
But this is an excellent loan move to a good Prem team. He needs to impress when coming off the bench initially and in training, and if he gets a run of games, then I can see only positives.
Best case, he putsi n good performances, some goals/assists, and come back in the summer a new born player.
Also thought for us he shouldāve forced himself in Kloppās plans to come on as a sub for Bobby, and also be relied upon when resting Bobby to play the false nine. Hasnāt worked out like that, but hopefully can pick a good partnership feeding Ings.

Yeah seems Shaqiri as a 10 as opposed to a false 9 (not actually much difference apart from Sky referring to our diamond set up every 10 seconds) is the back up to Firmino now.

Hopefully itās a move that can re-engerise him, after Sunday it baffled me he didnāt play more especially after Palace.
Anyhow must be some reasons, did like one comment on the BBC saying they should have loaned Origi instead and he could have smashed them in for fun? I dunno if they confused Salah with him on Sunday.
Letās see how he does.

Nice to hear the Boss acknowledges the fact that he hasnāt been given enough chances to prove his worth to the squad, contrary to how some quickly run the rule that he is completely shite.

Wonder if Klopp feels he can put Origi in but Taki needs a run of games to get the best and with Jota on his way back he feels he wonāt get that.

I wonder if Takumi has any family living with him. I think he is too lonely (in a foreign land) and that has affected his game.

Yep and the sad reality that due to defensive problems we couldnāt carry another small player at set piecesā¦ Bobby for all his recent faults is excellent at defending corners.

donāt think soā¦itās been a hard time for him, coming in a new country, and in a few weeks entering into lockdown, not being able to integrate with the players properly (only speaking through zoom), training alone at home, fitness levels and especially match sharpness has been hard to come by.
And, on top of it, as Boss explained today, the injury problems at the back have not been helpful , as we had to field Bobby/Origi instead (even if they were out of form), just to add that tad bit of defensive stability.
Hope the loan turns out fruitful for him, he is a technical player between the lines and we really lack some and trust it does turn out to be a long term project as Jurgen said.

Heās been crap. No ifs and buts about it. He might come good but I doubt it. Canāt fault his attitude or effort just his ability.
