I’ve really tried to rise above the negativity of the whole situation, but here he sounds like a 6 year old waiting for christmas. It’s cute coming from a 6 year old. It’s pretty pathetic coming from a 26 year old expecting us to believe that is what he meant.
Fair play to the lad, on the Spanish. Easy to say ‘all the Europeans who come into the premier league speak English’ but historically most the English nationals playing abroad would struggle to do that and I know I would.
I’m kind of whatever about the whole thing at this point, but I really don’t like his older brother/scumbag agent. Seems like the definition of a dickhead.
I wish him well and will be even a bit proud if he succeeds.
I thought yesterday he handled it brilliantly and his preparation was one of the best I’ve seen from a foreign or non-Spanish speaking new player at Real.
I’m just at peace with the amount of great time we had together, perhaps he hit a slightly (too) comfortable zone and wanted a new challenge more than staying, which all understandable to me.
No doubt that I will miss him when I see the likes of Vini and Mbappe on the end of his brilliant passing range from deep, but we also have a very good thing going on so that helps.
Conclusive proof that he was planning this for years because he spoke in Spanish for a minute.
Going by Nunez’s example, who still answers with nods and one syllable words after 3 years in England, he is a linguist but in reality, it really doesn’t take that much time to prepare something for being unveiled at a foreign club. It’s also weird that he needed an interpreter, but whatever.
Some of you have made your mind and nothing will change it. Knock yourselves out hating him.
