Ex-player: Xabi Alonso

Big leap for Xabi. Didn’t manage any senior team before. However, expectations at Leverkusen must be pretty low at the moment. YNWA

He’s been at the Sociedad B team for a season longer than Pep had been with barca B before getting the main job. It undoubtedly is a leap, but this is what he had been preparing for in his time there.

I’m definitely going to watch some of their games. Anybody knows how he likes setting up his team?

Good luck Xabi, wish you all the best.

Bayer started really really bad in this season, not sure Xabi is ready for a relegation battle? That’s a brave move, expectations will be sky high and hopefully he will be able to stabilise them quickly.

First game this weekend is a 6 pointer vers. Schalke. They are struggling as well, especially after Sepp v. d. Bergs bad injury. This will be interesting.

Good luck Xabi

What an emphatic start to Xabi’s tenure at Bayer.
Will be intrigued to see how he handles the raised hopes of Leverkusen fans.

Listened to his first interviews, he’s trying to speak mostly in basic German while also using English to help himself.

Xabi returns to the BL as Bayer04’s manager?

He’s been Leverkusen manager for at least 2 months.

Haha @Semmy

Been linked with Spurs.

Please don’t Xabi.

As if he’d consider them.

Extended his Leverkusen contract until summer 2026.

Anything else that happens at that time?
