Ex-player: Xabi Alonso

Never would’ve thought Xabi would betray us like this. He loves LFC so much.

Well he’s not gonna wait and stay unemployed forever just because they seem hell bent on keeping baldie.

In the end, we all know it’s about the :pound_banknote: :pound_banknote: :pound_banknote: :pound_banknote:

Instead he’s gonna lurch from the most poisonous job in football to the second most poisonous job in football.

If he plays his cards right, he’ll be in line for the England job by Euro ‘28.

Personally never felt he was the right guy anyway. I want another German. Step forward Herr Nagelsmann.

Meanwhile we dither along waiting to see where we’ll end up…

Yes, thats what it says on the label, in the reality of the boardroom, its entirely as I put it.

Xabi Alonso: Makes another piss poor career decision.
@wyld.at.hrt: Why would LFC do this?

They dithered getting rid of Hodgson. They dithered in getting rid of Rodgers. They have form for it, I suppose.

I think they were looking to replace Hodgson at the end of the season but events took hold which led to them turning to Kenny to Step in. Similar with Brendan, they struck a deal with Jurgen but he wanted to take a break first and stepped in early when wheels fell off.

I haven’t a clue what will happen now. All noises from the club suggest Arne will start next season and probably see out his contract.

Dithering on Rodgers didn’t exactly turn out to be a bad decision. It’s not as if Jürgen was rubbing up against Abramovich the way Xabi appears to be rubbing up against Boehly.

He should take a sabbatical till, let’s say, about October. I have a feeling there may be a couple more vacancies opening up.

Alonso is better avoiding the Chavs entirely, he’ll just end up leaving with a lowered value. The only club where you can make more by avoiding their employment.

I have a feeling we have no interest in for whatever reason. Unless this is more Chelsea stuff to try and push him into a decision.

They’re offering him the keys to the kingdom. That’s a rare opportunity at a top club nowadays.

We definitely won’t do that so he’ll have to operate within a structure.

And that structure is currently fluid because Edwards and Hughes only have one year left in their contracts. That could be too much uncertainty for him.

FSG need to pull their finger out.

They wont be. And certainly not by Boehly who himself has been somewhat marginalized by the Clearlake side of the group led by Eghbali

And if they were that should be even more of a red flag for a potential new manager because an org making such an enormous change in structure like that is such an unstable one that it leaves you way too much to do off the field for you to fix what is wrong on it.
