FA Cup 2025/2026

We have drawn Barnsley at home in the 3rd round to be played around the weekend of 10th January.

I thought we may as well have a new thread for it.

Just about

Might be quite important depending on the next month.

Barnsley must be quaking in their boots.

Can anyone tell me something about Barnsley. please, who are they?

A typical yorkshire industrial town, known for its coal mining, glassworks, textile industry and knocking Liverpool out of this tourny in 2008.

A game for our great bench warmers to show their quality.

Or maybe attract interest in January.

:joy:

They did reach the heights of the PL in the late 90s under Danny Wilson I believe. Been pretty much Championship and League 1 since. More likely League 1 however since about the middle part of the last decade.

I see Adam Phillips plays for them 35 goals and 25 assists in 151 games. Nice to see.

And David McGoldrick, f*ck me, there’s our executioner on the day right there.

But hey, achieve top 10 and win the FA Cup. Start rebuilding next summer.

:smiling_face_with_sunglasses: :joy:

Everton fans have been saying that for the past 35 years.

Yea that worked so well against Plymouth and CP :see_no_evil_monkey:

I’ve seen us play Barnsley 3 times at Anfield. We lost 2 and drew the other one. :frowning:

Maybe don’t go, eh?
