Oh look, Arsene sucking up to his paymasters. Sure, fans of non European clubs would be okay because they play way less and way less intense matches than in the top 5 European leagues. He would be singing an entirely different tune if he was still the Arsenal manager as the injuries piled up.
100%, sad how he completely sold out.
Yeah, it‘s a sad sight indeed. I had a lot of time for him when he was at Arsenal, but now, he’s nothing, just someone cashing in the big money while defending his corrupt paymasters.
Yeah and his offside idea is absolutely terrible as well.
He was also a cunt when he was at Arsenal it’s just their drop into pointlessness blunts the memory of that over time
I still remember in his early days when they were walking red cards and his standard response about their red card worthy tackles was “I did not see it”
And I dont think anyone did more to normalize the outrageous Grealish style flopping as Pires and Wenger.
I didn’t mind Wenger at Arsenal. He built some really good sides. Obviously he had an edge to him, which of course is why Alex Ferguson disliked him so much as he was a threat, at least for a while. Then when Arsenal tightened the purse strings to do the stadium, Wenger still got them Champions League football on a regular basis.
My overall take is he helped to professionalize the game and take it forward, when there was still a cultural tendency within football to go backwards. Yes, elements of snide were there too, and he definitely had a side to him that was quite different to the kindly professor image. But if he were ours we all would have liked him.
Nowadays?
Yep, I wholeheartedly agree that he is taking the FIFA money while coming out in support of the sort of nonsense he would have been vehemently against as the Arsenal manager. Wenger was an early advocate for player welfare, and I seem to remember he talked about a winter break, and the importance of rest and so on.
Now that he is on the FIFA payroll he’s singing from a different hymn sheet. It’s inauthentic and it’s a shame.
He gone from, “I’m a father, the player’s are my children” to “I’m a pimp, these whores need to make me more money”.
This is Orwellian. Other than “there was a tournament” and “it was played in the US”, not a single claim made here by Garber is true
Garber said the event had put the United States and its neighbors firmly on the international football map
There was so much anticipation leading up to it
But the energy and knowledge of our crowds, the diversity and celebratory atmosphere – they showed the world what we were capable of
Sadly everything associated with Republican/MAGA/treason is Orwellian.
This is from Don Garber, the head of US football, not Kash Patel.
yeah and they tug the forelock of Infantino who does the same to the nappy man.
I think I suggested he would say this about 3 weeks back when the tournament ended even if a typhoon had wiped out two of the sides.
Delusional git…is he another Trumpy puppet..
Deciding whether to watch the final of this mess or the women’s euros game between England and Wales tonight is like choosing between waxing your sack or crack - thank goodness for the pre-season friendly earlier
This is the first match I’ve sat down to watch.
Please tell me this ‘blue corner, white corner’ shit hasn’t happened every match…
100% crack for me.
Have tried both.
