UEFA and FIFA hate one another so you get the other blaming them.
Sadly what will be damaged in the long run is the game at home (as in home countries).

Players need to take action at some stage and boycott playing for their Country, which they don’t get paid for if rosters carry on increasing and someone needs to challenge the rule of players being forced to play for their country.
I don’t think players are forced to play international football - they can turn down a call up, declare themselves unavailable for selection, the classic niggly injury or just retire from international football whilst still playing at club level.
Some may want to play for their country for pride, patriotism or the increase in the amount they can negotiate in future contracts, sponsorships and endorsements as a capped international.
They can’t declare themselves not able for selection as their country can then stop them playing for their club, if they then select them and they refuse.
Also, with injuries the Country have the right, under FIFA rules to make them attend for assessment under their doctors/physios etc.
It is the above regarding stopping players playing for their club that needs testing in court.
Yeah, we had an issue with Matip over this very issue, can’t remember how it resolved in the end though tbf.
Yup Matip had it for years and he has retired.
Twice England have got around the back and twice the player is on their weaker foot and can’t produce a decent cross.
Why have inverted wingers when the opposition denies space inside?
We were always worried that they would call him up and he would refuse and then not be able to play for us.
They never called him up
Yeah but they kept threatening.
Interesting, is it just during the international break they can’t play for their club side?
No as there are no club games during international games it is actual post the break.
From AI
FIFA regulations dictate that they cannot play for their club during the international break plus an additional five days.
They can retire from International footy though.
