FIFA Club World Cup

Transcripts of the conversation have been revealed -
Pep: What was that, I thought we had an understanding?
Ref: We are sorry Mr Pep but their oil soaked brown envelope was stuffed fuller than yours.
Pep: What a waste, those foreign currency exchange charges and Trump tariffs made it so much more expensive than last time to buy our way to success!
Ref (muttering under breath): Like you’ll ever have to face the consequences of any charges, I’m sure City’s lawyers will drag it out longer than a storm delayed Chelsea game

That’s a shame, they should have gone a bit deeper before going out.

Would have been good, for sure, but I’m happy they’ve had to spend a few weeks in sweltering conditions whilst our boys have been sitting on the beach celebrating number 20.

Added to that, it’s possible that one-third of our starting line-up on Day 1 will be new, bringing with them an outside desire for success in 2026.

Pretty fucking excited for the coming season, to be honest.

Hopefully Pep quits 4-5 games into the PL season.

Pep says if I don’t take dodgy oil money payments I’ll only be good enough to play for Al-Hilal

Accrington-Hilal who are they?

So, Saudi club based in Saudi beats Saudi club based in the UK.

Not paid this tournament any attention. Enjoyed reading the headlines this morning about City being knocked out.

Oh yeah, it’s so hard to keep track of oil state sportswashing projects.

I’ve only really just caught up on this. Did anyone watch it? Did City throw the match or are they just knackered?

I rather enjoyed this comment on the Guardian story.

I can only imagine the bants in countless offices around the Arabian Gulf this morning as Saudi workers mug off their Emirati colleagues. That’s what football is all about. The people’s game.

Damn, City players get to go on vacation now. Hopefully they had enough exertion from this cup so that it screws up the next season.

Rather that than they win it frankly. Let’s put it this way they won’t be back til the 3rd and won’t be ready for their break til about 4/5th and we are back within 3 days of that.

Thats basically how far behind they are, love how they were lording this tournament up especially after Klopp slagged it off and then this. It’s utterly glorious.

Well their main asset last year was Rodri who was out for a year with knee ligaments injury but after last night he got injured again but I don’t how serious it is therefore they will be affected one way or another.

Wouldnt be surprised if he gets caught on the hamstring merry go round now. I dont know if last night was an injury or precaution, but the additional 20 mins he played in ET wont have been planned and would have represented a big leap in workload.
