Really not optimal conditions a lot of these matches are being played in - sure, lots of the players are familiar with similar climates, but generally matches are played in the evening. From a training point of view, a two week vacation isn’t going to be enough to reset the cycle.
Oh River Plate….have you tried playing football rather than carrying on like lunatics.
What a player.
Crowd size looks worse than a city game.
Maybe having ICE help with security isn’t such a great idea🤷♂️
He’s one of the biggest knob heads going that guy.
To be fair I have a certain amount of repect for him. After the CL final in 2022 he was on SSN the next morning absolving the Liverpool fans of any blame whatsoever, praising their behaviour outside the ground and condemning the authorities, while every other cunt was hanging fire and more than likely hoping for an opportunity to put the boot in on the fans.
That said he is talking a fair bit of nonsense there, especially claiming clubs head off on tours of the far East at the end of the season. It’s one thing to go and play a couple of friendly matches in Malaysia before having a month or so off, going and playing up to 7 competitive matches in those conditions at the end of a hard season is an entirely different matter.
Everybody: “Would be quite a feat to make this steaming pile of shit worse than whatever the fuck it is we’re witnessing right now.”
FIFA: “Hold my beer.”
If we send our U21s would it be disrespecting the tournament.
The Chelsea game yesterday was a farce. With a couple of minutes to go lighting strikes in the area forced the game to be halted, but due to the nature of the safety protocols (typically something like 15 minutes after the last strike within a 5 mile radius) and the unpredictable nature of where and when lightening strikes happen, it meant every one was just sitting around waiting for them to be able to go out and play the final 2 minutes of the game. By the time they did, 2 hours later, almost all the fans had fucked off.
Two of the reports I read commented that Charlotte doesnt have games in the world cup, as if the issue is specific to Charlotte and not the entire American South for a 4 month period in the summer.
Yeah it’s a common problem in MLS games.
It’s a problem for everything in the South this time of the year. A couple of weeks ago I went to the airport to pick up Mrs Limie but after an hour of her being stuck on the plane at the gate because of lightening protocols prevented the ground crew connecting the jet bridge to eh door, I turned around and went home leaving her to call her an uber whenever it was they finally let her get off the plane.
Pro tip - if you’re flying into or out the US south this time of year try to find flights that are done by noon to minimize the risk of lightening related delays.
My interest was piqued on the Miami-psg game with it being a rainy Sunday.
It’s 4-0 at half time so I’m going to go and read a book instead
I think that the quarter final game PSG vs Bayern is going to be a lot tighter and I have this feeling it will go all the way to penalties.
I also think either Kvara or Kane will decide the outcome of the game.
I read, either on the BBC or in the Guardian, that the protocol kicked in if there was a lightning strike within an 8-mile radius. To my uninformed mind that seems overly cautious.
The Fluminense player Martinelli what a magician with the ball. They beat a tired Inter today 2:0. Potentially two Brazilian teams playing two English teams.
Last few days on TalkShite…
CITY ARE BACK!!!
