FIFA World Cup 2022: Qualification Stage

With England and Germany all but settled, my focus has switched over to Italy vs Bulgaria (1:1), and Sweden vs Spain (2:1).

No less than they deserved

Would be nice if Henderson is picked to start in the next match. I’d love to see him get as many minutes as possible over this break to gain match sharpness for when he returns. The Chelsea match showed he could use it.

Georgia losing to Kosovo, at home was surprising. I know Georgia isn’t much, but so is Kosovo. Same with Iceland losing to Romania.

Did any of our lads play tonight?

Japan lost to Oman, Takumi unused sub.

With the track record of homophobic and racism displayed by Hungarian supporters and government already in Euro, FIFA should have their “home” matches played in neutral venue or empty stadium. Instead, FIFA went with the total chicken shit route.

Henderson came on in the 83rd minute, but the final 10 minutes were choppy, start/stop, he really didn’t get a chance to run.

Again, would really love to see him play every minute possible the rest of this break. This is one situation I think the international break helps a player.

Pretty good win again that for England against a side that got draws against both Germany and France at the Euros. Thought Grealish looked really good when he wasn’t on the deck.

So you mean during the national anthems?

UEFA pretty much rolled over and had their belly tickled due to the sports washing attempt at the Euros.

They won’t do a thing, an advert during the break will suffice for these spineless bunch of cnuts.

After all remember his comments about integrity a week or so ago because some clubs wouldn’t release their players and miss about 4 games for games these sides will win anyhow as evidenced by this Chile game.

Kosovo’s football team can be tricky, mobile and aggressive. Even when they lose some games, I remember one they lost against England, they were dangerous in pressing and forward transitions. They’re probably also highly motivated as well with every game they play these days.

No English Brazil players in last nights match or on the bench so that is good

What do you think about the selection or the performance? Im always interested when a big side changes to manager, especially after one who had been there a while, to see what changes are going to be made. Yesterday looked pretty much like a continuity selection though. Not too much there that you wouldn’t have expected form Low

Just noticed there is an international break in late January this season. Well the South America qualifiers are then …

Well I assume it times with the mid season break for the PL but yeah it doesn’t really work.

Yesterday was just day 1. Flick will give younger players a chance without any hesitation as he did yesterday, instead of relying on dinosaurs. As this team progresses he will continue to open it up and be less rigid than Löw and he will make this entertaining football again.

He brought on Florian Wirtz for his first ever German cap. IMO it’s a really exciting time. Many young German players will get a chance.

I thought the team played well overall, but again just match 1 and working out Flick’s ideas and tactics. Lichtenstein were packed in, Germany was creating but very difficult to break down that bus.

Sane was terrible up until his goal.

I hate saying this, but Werner was excellent. His goal was intelligent. Never thought I’d say that.

Jamal Musiala is the future.

Kimmich is a machine.

I will forever have a mancrush on Leon Goretzka.

Ridle Baku is crazy underrated.

Germany is in phenomenal hands with Flick leading.

Honestly, he really is living of past, and fleeting, glories of 3+ years ago.

That’s a shock, considering he would played Gini into the ground in two friendlies in the previous series.

One in which they were 3-0 up by half time.

Robertson is looking sharp in this Scotland game.

That was FdB.

Meanwhile Israel is mauling Austria.

and Ukraine takes lead against France
